etEase Games and Marvel Games used the Marvel Rivals Assemble live fan event to unveil their biggest content roadmap yet. The award-winning Super Hero Team-Based PvP Shooter is heading into 2026 with a cinematic strategy titled “Path to Doomsday.”

If 2025 established Marvel Rivals as a competitive powerhouse, 2026 positions it directly alongside Marvel Studios’ biggest theatrical moments.

The 2026 Roadmap: Path to Doomsday

During the presentation, Creative Director GuangGuang, Publishing and Marketing Lead Yachen Bian, and Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo outlined a year-long rollout of Avengers-inspired content.

Beginning in April and continuing through June, August, and October 2026, Marvel Rivals will introduce special events and new game modes inspired by Marvel Studios’ Avengers films — spanning from The Avengers through Avengers: Endgame.

Then, in December, the roadmap culminates with new content tied directly to the release of Avengers: Doomsday in theaters on December 18.

This positions Marvel Rivals not just as a competitive title, but as an interactive extension of Marvel’s larger cinematic universe.

If you’ve been following our previous Marvel Rivals coverage, including the Marvel Rivals Assemble event announcement, this roadmap confirms the live-service strategy is accelerating.

Engagement by the Numbers

The development team also revealed updated engagement metrics:

  • Discord community: Over 4.2 million members
  • Total playable Super Heroes: 47
  • Total maps launched: 20
  • Total costumes released: 418
  • Extra game modes available: 11

The scale reflects one of the fastest-growing hero shooters in the genre.

For official updates, players can visit the Marvel Rivals website.

New Limited-Time Loki Asymmetric Mode

One of the most exciting announcements was a new limited-time asymmetric mode.

In this mode:

  • One player controls Loki
  • Six other players control different heroes

Loki receives an entirely new ability set built around deception, illusions, and Infinity Stone-inspired powers. He can:

  • Mind control enemy heroes
  • Turn them against one another
  • Summon controlled versions of heroes to fight

Under specific conditions, opposing players can summon Hulk, recreating iconic moments from The Avengers.

A new Loki costume tied to this mode was also unveiled.

Season 7 Tease: A Thief and an Agent

The team also teased upcoming Season 7 content with a cryptic narrative hook:

“A thief and an agent are teaming up in New York for an impossible mission.”

While no characters were confirmed, the tone suggests a street-level storyline that could introduce new heroes or villains.

If you’re tracking seasonal content shifts in Marvel Rivals, this likely signals a pivot from cinematic event tie-ins to character-driven storytelling.

The “Path to Doomsday” roadmap signals a synchronized strategy between live-service gameplay and theatrical Marvel storytelling.

2026 is not just another content year. It is a coordinated build toward Marvel’s next cinematic milestone — and players will be part of that journey.
