May 16, 2025

Today marks a special day for Nintendo fans and visitors in San Francisco as Nintendo officially opened its second U.S. retail store, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO, located in the heart of Union Square at 331 Powell Street. The grand opening ceremony was led by Nintendo of America President and COO Doug Bowser, who was joined by San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie for the ribbon-cutting event. Adding to the excitement, Mario himself made a surprise appearance to welcome the crowd.

Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO offers an immersive shopping experience celebrating the beloved characters and franchises Nintendo fans know and love. Spanning two stories, the store features an extensive selection of products including game systems, exclusive apparel, home goods, accessories, and collectibles inspired by Nintendo’s iconic series.

  • Animal Crossing: Tote bags, drinkware, and comfy loungewear that bring island life into your daily routine.
  • Splatoon: Trendy Aloha shirts and ink tank backpacks straight from Splatsville.

Multiple demo stations invite visitors to play the latest Nintendo Switch games, and a giant gaming screen on the lower floor offers a shared space for gameplay and future Nintendo Direct livestreams.

Guests can also earn exclusive rewards by checking in at the My Nintendo kiosk with their Nintendo Account, receiving a collectible sticker and 50 Platinum Points.
