Netflix’s live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE returns this year with a bigger world, new enemies, and the long-awaited journey into the legendary Grand Line. Ahead of the upcoming season, we spoke with members of the Straw Hat crew along with newcomer Charithra Chandran, who joins the series as Miss Wednesday, about what fans can expect when the adventure continues.
Season 2 pushes Luffy and the Straw Hats into one of the most dangerous and unpredictable regions of the world — the Grand Line — where every island brings new threats, alliances, and discoveries in the search for the greatest treasure on the seas.

The Straw Hats Enter the Grand Line
We sat down with Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji) to talk about returning for Season 2 and bringing the Grand Line arc to life.
During our conversation, the cast reflected on some of their favorite team-up moments from the season and the excitement of translating iconic action sequences from the manga and anime into live action.
One highlight discussed was the massive 100 agents fight sequence, which Mackenyu described as an intense filming experience that pushed the cast physically while delivering one of the season’s most ambitious action moments.
The cast also shared their thoughts on the evolving visual style of the show, particularly the costumes and character looks that draw heavily from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga while adapting them for live action.
And of course, fans can look forward to some standout Sanji moments this season — including the fan-favorite “Party Table Kick Course” move.

Bringing Miss Wednesday to Life
Season 2 also introduces Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, a mysterious Baroque Works agent who quickly makes an impression in the story.

During our interview, Chandran discussed the physical preparation required for the role, particularly the stunt training involved with Miss Wednesday’s distinctive Peacock Slashers fighting style.
She also spoke about working alongside Aroop Shergill, who portrays the younger version of the character, and how the two collaborated to ensure their performances shared similar mannerisms and emotional beats.
Chandran also highlighted how Miss Wednesday’s arc challenges expectations, evolving from someone who might initially appear vulnerable into a much more layered and formidable character as the season unfolds.
