Big Gold Belt Media at the World Premiere of Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* in Hollywood

April 29, 2025

On a star-studded night filled with electricity and excitement, Big Gold Belt Media had the incredible opportunity to attend the world premiere of Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*. Held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, this red carpet event united fans, press, and the film’s all-star cast in a celebration of Marvel’s boldest and most unconventional team-up yet.

A Grand Entrance – The Pre-Red Carpet Atmosphere

Before the red carpet even began, the energy on Hollywood Boulevard was palpable. Fans lined the streets hours ahead of showtime, some in full cosplay, all eager for a glimpse of the Marvel stars. We soaked in the vibrant buzz surrounding the event and got our first look at the larger-than-life Thunderbolts* branding wrapped around the theatre entrance.

The check-in process and media staging areas were impressively smooth. Everyone we interacted with—from event staff to PR handlers—was completely professional, full of good energy, and incredibly accommodating when needed. The atmosphere was upbeat but well-organized, making the experience enjoyable from the start.

What stood out the most was the pure excitement from fans—especially the many talented cosplayers. It was heartwarming to see stars on the red carpet stopping to admire their work, pose for photos, and share a moment of mutual fandom. It truly set the tone for a celebration that was just as much for the fans as it was for the film.

Star Power on Display – Red Carpet Highlights

The red carpet lit up with a mix of fierce fashion and familiar faces. Florence Pugh stunned in a striking look worthy of Yelena Belova herself, while Sebastian Stan brought effortless cool as Bucky Barnes. David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (John Walker), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine) were also in attendance, greeting fans and posing for press.

Director Jake Schreier, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and the writing duo of Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo also walked the carpet, joined by the experimental trio Son Lux—responsible for the film’s hauntingly bold score.

The Film: A Gritty, Grounded Take on Redemption

Once inside, attendees were treated to the first full screening of Thunderbolts*—and it did not disappoint. The film delivered a thrilling blend of laughs, tears, jaw-dropping stunts, and explosive action sequences. From start to finish, the score by Son Lux elevated the emotional tension, often feeling like an additional character in the story with its pulsating, atmospheric presence.

One of the most unforgettable early moments comes courtesy of Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, who fearlessly jumps from the second-tallest building in the world—a dizzying 2,227 feet—eclipsed only by Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. It’s a sequence that sets the tone for the high-stakes missions ahead.

Sebastian Stan also commands the screen, particularly in a scene that sees Bucky Barnes roll up to a military convoy with a cold, calculated presence that channels his inner Terminator—clearly paying homage to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The audience was all in, audibly reacting throughout the film—from gasps during emotional turns to cheers during standout fight scenes. Thunderbolts* finds a unique rhythm, offering a grounded, grittier look at flawed heroes trying to find purpose in their pain.

After the credits rolled, the celebration continued at an exclusive after party just blocks from the premiere. Cast and crew mingled with invited guests under dim lighting and sleek, industrial-chic decor that felt pulled straight from a Thunderbolts hideout.

From themed cocktails to immersive photo ops and a pulsating soundtrack curated by Son Lux, the party served as the perfect bookend to an unforgettable evening.

After the credits rolled, the celebration continued at an exclusive after party just blocks from the premiere venue. The space was transformed into a sleek, industrial-chic environment with vibrant lighting, custom decor, and nods to the film’s gritty aesthetic.

Of course, one of our favorite surprises was the cereal bar—a fun, nostalgic touch that was impossible to resist. Alongside it were a variety of food and drink selections that kept guests fueled and mingling well into the night. A live DJ kept the energy high, spinning tracks that had the whole room buzzing.

There were plenty of immersive photo ops and backdrops throughout the venue—perfect for capturing the night. But what truly stood out was witnessing our favorite stars and filmmakers let loose and enjoy themselves. Seeing them laugh, dance, and genuinely connect—not just with each other, but with guests including us—made the night feel even more special and inclusive. It wasn’t just a party; it was a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community.
