Emerald Fennell isn’t interested in playing it safe, and her take on Wuthering Heights proves it.

After making waves in theaters and pulling in over $230 million worldwide, Fennell’s bold reimagining of the classic love story is now set to arrive at home. The film will be available on Digital beginning March 31, 2026, followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on May 5, 2026.

A Classic Story Reimagined with a Darker Edge

This isn’t your traditional adaptation.

Written, directed, and produced by Emerald Fennell, Wuthering Heights leans fully into the emotional chaos of Emily Brontë’s original novel, reframing the story as something more intense, obsessive, and psychologically charged.

Margot Robbie steps into the role of Cathy, while Jacob Elordi plays Heathcliff, and together they bring a volatile, almost dangerous energy to a love story that has always been rooted in longing, pain, and destruction. This version doesn’t soften those edges — it sharpens them.

A Cast That Elevates the Obsession

Robbie and Elordi may be the center of the storm, but the supporting cast adds serious weight to the world around them.

Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell all contribute to a layered ensemble that reinforces the film’s tone, grounding the heightened emotion with performances that feel lived-in and deliberate.

Behind the camera, Fennell reunites with a strong creative team, including cinematographer Linus Sandgren and costume designer Jacqueline Durran, whose work helps shape the film’s distinct, almost dreamlike atmosphere.

A Gothic Vision Built for the Big Screen… and Now at Home

One of the biggest takeaways from Wuthering Heights is just how much it commits to its aesthetic.

From sweeping landscapes to intimate, almost suffocating close-ups, the film builds a world that feels both beautiful and unsettling. That same attention to detail carries over into the home release, where viewers will be able to revisit the film with high-quality visuals and immersive sound design.

And for those who want to go deeper, the release includes several behind-the-scenes features that break down how this version of Wuthering Heights came together — from costume design to the film’s overall tone and creative direction.

What Comes with the Home Release

The Digital, 4K, and Blu-ray versions include a collection of bonus features that offer a closer look at Fennell’s vision.

From exploring the evolution of Cathy and Heathcliff through costume and performance, to diving into the film’s layered themes of love, obsession, and madness, the extras help paint a fuller picture of what went into bringing this story to life.

There’s also a full commentary track from Fennell herself, giving audiences direct insight into her approach and interpretation of the material.

A Story That Still Resonates

There’s a reason Wuthering Heights continues to be revisited generation after generation.

It’s messy. It’s complicated. And at times, it’s uncomfortable in the way it portrays love and obsession. Fennell understands that, and instead of trying to modernize the story in a safer way, she leans into what makes it enduring.

With its home release, this version of Wuthering Heights now has the opportunity to reach a wider audience — one that can sit with its intensity, revisit its moments, and maybe see something new each time.
