Omar Epps talks Moses The Black at the film’s World Premiere red carpet in Los Angeles.
Recently released from prison, Malik (Omar Epps), a feared gang leader from Chicago’s West Side, returns home determined to avenge the murder of his closest friend. As rival gangs close in and visions of St. Moses the Black begin to haunt him, Malik is forced to confront faith, redemption, and the enemy within.
At the premiere, Omar Epps reflects on the film’s themes of Black excellence, faith, transformation, and community, as well as the importance of telling layered Black stories on a cinematic scale.
Moses The Black opens in theaters nationwide January 30.
