Jake Atlas def. Ashante “Thee” Adonis
Even several months after his brief rivalry with The Brian Kendrick, Ashante “Thee” Adonis still seems to be employing the veteran’s teachings.
Adonis was laser-focused for his seesaw battle with Jake Atlas, who also came into Friday’s 205 Live hellbent on picking up another victory.
Adonis yielded a long two-count after flattening his foe with a crossbody from the top rope, but Atlas rallied with his Cartwheel DDT for the victory. The Superstars also exchanged some choice words as Atlas celebrated in the ring and Adonis exited up the ramp.
August Grey def. Tony Nese
August Grey, who passed on the chance to end Mansoor’s undefeated streak via a count-out and instead got rolled up two weeks ago, looked to bounce back in a slugfest with Tony Nese.
Ariya Daivari, who joined the commentary desk, claimed that he was impressed when Grey used the ropes for leverage to defeat The Persian Prince several weeks ago but also criticized The Life of the Party for not taking a count-out win against Mansoor.
Nese took control by planting Grey into the mat with a back suplex and dropping him with a gut buster. After the fight spilled to ringside and The Life of the Party once again refused to win via count-out, he reversed The Premier Athlete’s rollup for the 1-2-3!
