A Dose Of Colemanism: My Life, Health And Strength

During testimony service at church growing up there used to be a common phrase people would say. They would be getting ready to give their testimony and often start by saying, “I’d like to thank the Lord for my life, health and strength.”

I would hear it so much that it didn’t mean much to me. Don’t get me wrong: I’m grateful, but it was a common phrase.

I’ve been in this sport for over 25 years, and I’ve been living for more than 44 years. Now I understand why this phrase was said so frequently.

Life: Simply being thankful for being alive. I made it to another day.

Health: I have my life, I’m in my right mind, and my health afflictions haven’t been more than I can bear.

Strength: Since I have my life and health, I can do things for myself and others.

Each one of these things that many of us take for granted are someone else’s desires. It’s also factual that any one of these things could be gone in just a blink of an eye.

I’m not trying to scare you. I just know sometimes life is hard, and I want you to realize how blessed you are to have your life, health and strength.

With that being said, I’d like to proudly proclaim that I’m thankful for my life, health and strength.

Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
