Thinking back to this time last year, there was so much uncertainty. We all wanted to know what would happen next. If you remember 2020 like I do, there was always something next.
The uncertainty of something happening out of your control that suddenly takes control seemingly over everything. In this instance, The WORLD shut down.
To me, 2020 paints a picture of what the disciples must have felt like during Jesus’ trial. Here stands a man they believed would be king. Then before their very eyes he’s tried, convicted, and crucified. Can you imagine the uncertainties they must have felt during these times?
Imagine the next day for the disciples. It would be easy to believe they wanted to know what happens next. There is recorded conversation of how some of them just went back to their normal job of fishing.
Little did they know that the one they were so down about would later meet them while they were fishing. Before this, His other disciples saw the tomb He had been buried in was empty!
I’m not going get super religious on you, but I find this weird parallel in their eyes being opened and us beginning to come out of what many of us thought could be the end-all for everyone.
Many of His disciples went on to carry His legacy. Some of them wrote about it. The same way we talk about our experiences in 2020 is similar to how his disciples talked about their experiences with Christ.
Both their stories and ours are historical facts now. They came out of it better, knowledgeable and equipped, and I believe we are as well.
Happy Easter!
Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
