I’ve been part of pro wrestling for more than 25 years. I have to admit that some of those years were harder than others, but not for obvious reasons.
My first 10 years were amazing. I was following my dream and it was working! After a while I started to notice things that I’d mostly overlooked before. Frustration would often be my copilot.
It had gotten to where I could no longer cheer for my friends’ success because I was tired of waiting on mine. This quickly manifested into jealousy towards my friends. Don’t get me wrong; I wanted them to make it, but I wanted to make it before they did.
This began to get the best of me until I changed my mindset. I consciously had to change to a “We Prosper” mentally. A “We Prosper” mentally is finding success in other’s successes.
While talking to a friend, he expressed his excitement for a mentee of his. He said, “When I see him up there shining, I feel like I’m shining too.”
This revealed that one sure way of developing a “We Prosper” mentally is by investing in others. Coaching, teaching, listening, aiding, and demonstrating patience to one who could use it are forms of pouring into others. When you do this and see prosperity in it, reassurance is close by.
When this develops it opens your eyes to the success around you. I believe people find what they’re really looking for. If you’re a jealous person, you’ll have to continue finding misfortune to feed it. A “We Prosper” mindset finds fortune in others’ success. See the difference?
When you can really enjoy seeing people you know win, it forges a winners’ glow on you. When you prosper, We Prosper.
Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
