The Elite managed to pick up their first victory in the Best of 7 Series with Death Triangle, Samoa Joe continued demonstrating why he’s one of the most terrifying forces in pro wrestling with his fight against AR Fox, Bryan Danielson and Dax Harwood had a superb head-to-head collision, and after running his mouth for 20 minutes, MJF slid a knife into the back of William Regal after he used “The Gentleman Villain” to defeat Jon Moxley at FULL GEAR 2022!

AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…
The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)(c)
vs.
AAA/IWGP/ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)
https://www.youtube.com/embed/gVKPdJ-9G5o
FTR has been near the top of the tag team food chain in All Elite Wrestling for the majority of 2022, but one thing has been missing from their complete ascension to the pinnacle (pun only slightly intended) of AEW’s tag team division and that would be the championship currently held by The Acclaimed of Anthony Bowens and Max Caster.
Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have proven themselves one of the great teams of this era, not just because of the titles they have amassed throughout their career nor because of the three different tag team championships they currently hold from Ring of Honor, AAA, and New Japan, but also because of the in-ring resume they’ve built. Just look at the two previous ROH events in 2022 to bear witness to a pair of the greatest tag team bouts from the last twenty years between FTR and The Briscoes. Dax and Cash have made a case for themselves to be called the greatest tag team in professional wrestling today, but one other team is aiming to make that their distinction, and they took one massive step closer to that at DYNAMITE: GRAND SLAM 2022 when they became AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Max Caster and Anthony Bowens did not come into All Elite Wrestling at the top of the division, they actually entered the field at the bottom of the heap, fighting for a moment of recognition on AEW DARK, and doing so in front of an empty Daily’s Place. They did it against The Best Friends, against SCU, and even challenged The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship titles just about two years ago. The Acclaimed continually honed their craft in the ring, fought through injuries, never stopped running their mouths whether the opponents where Moxley & Kingston, Sting & Darby, or The Lucha Brothers. During the course of all this, something rather intriguing happened, Caster and Bowens actually began to win over the AEW faithful.
Their hard-work, their dedication to getting better at their chosen craft, and their extremely entertaining pre-match schtick won over fans all around the world, with the addition of “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed’s Scissor Party putting it over the top. Max and Anthony worked as hard as anyone else in AEW, harder even, to the point that their catchphrase became reality and here in December 2022 everyone really does love The Acclaimed.
But so too do people love FTR; and that is why this clash taking place on DYNAMITE this Wednesday night is such a highly-anticipated clash! FTR has been in pursuit of the AEW World Tag Team Championship ever since The Young Bucks beat them at FULL GEAR 2020, and increasingly so throughout 2022. By all rights they should’ve been the #1 Contender’s for the belts at FULL GEAR 2022, but the combination of The Gunns interference and Swerve Strickland’s cheating saw them fall to Swerve In Our Glory when the opportunity was at hand.
There are some things that are inevitable though, and FTR getting their chance to become 2-Time AEW World Tag Team Champions is one such thing that finally comes to pass this Wednesday night. Two of the most popular teams in All Elite Wrestling, the most coveted World Tag Team Championship in professional wrestling, and it goes down live on DYNAMITE! Will FTR achieve their dream and add a fourth championship to their current resume? Or will The Acclaimed put to rest any doubt that they’re the best team in All Elite Wrestling? There’s not doubt many teams will have their eyes on this one: The Gunns, Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, those are just two of the teams who’ve expressed their desire for those titles, and they will all be watching to see who walks away from this confrontation as champion!
TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH…
ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia & Jake Hager
vs.
Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta
This Saturday afternoon at FINAL BATTLE 2022 three of these four men will be engaged in singles competition. Claudio Castagnoli will be in combat with the ROH World Champion Chris Jericho with the championship at stake, and the future of The Swiss Superman’s career in the balance. If he loses, he has to join The J.A.S., but if he wins, he becomes a 2-Time ROH World Champion. As for Castagnoli’s partner, Wheeler Yuta will try to become the first-ever 2-Time ROH Pure Champion when he takes on “Red Death” Daniel Garcia with that championship at stake.
But this Wednesday night, those three men will be locked in tag team action, joined by the man who loves his hat, Jake Hager, for a tag team preview of Saturday night’s fray. This will be the first time Hager and Garcia have united as partners, but they’ve been united as Jericho Appreciation Society for quite some time, been part of Blood & Guts and Anarchy in the Arena together, a Trios bout with Jericho at their side, and are clearly on the same page in this Wrestler vs. Sports Entertainer dynamic Jericho has created.
So this fight here is about getting a leg-up heading into Saturday night, getting the advantage for Blackpool Combat Club or Jericho Appreciation Society, and claiming superiority over the other for that night!
DYNAMITE DIAMOND BATTLE ROYALE…
Brian Cage, ROH Six Man Champion Dalton Castle, “All Ego” Ethan Page, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Matt Hardy, 2022 Men’s World Title Eliminator Tournament Winner Ricky Starks, Shawn Dean
https://www.youtube.com/embed/N5CQqkwDdNs
For the very first time in three years, the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale will NOT include Maxwell Jacob Friedman. A 3-Time co-winner of this bout and 3-Time winner of the Dynamite Diamond Ring, Maxwell is now in the position of AEW World Champion and thus is not expected to participate in an effort to keep the ring in his possession.
Instead, the winner of this Battle Royale will get to face Maxwell Jacob Friedman down the line, and that is why a man like “Absolute” Ricky Starks has thrown his name into the hat, despite earning a World Championship Match at WINTER IS COMING after winning the World Title Eliminator Tournament. It’s why “All Ego” Ethan Page is in this fracas, it’s why Jack Perry and Matt Hardy, and everyone involved is participating in this bout. It’s not just about the Dynamite Diamond Ring, it’s also about the chance to fight AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman should he remain so after December 15th in Garland, TX. In previous years, this was about the last two men standing moving on to fight one another but this one is just about the last man standing!
TNT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…
Samoa Joe(c) vs. Darby Allin
***STING & WARDLOW BANNED FROM RINGSIDE***
As both the TNT Champion and the ROH World TV Champion, Samoa Joe has declared himself the King of Television, and given his generally intimidating presence, there are few who would argue with the longest reigning ROH World Champion in history.
Darby Allin is one of those few…
As the most successful TNT Champion in that title’s history, a reign lasting 186 days with 9 successful defenses, Allin went toe-to-toe with foes such as The Butcher, Brian Cage, JD Drake, and Ten, men who had power advantages over him, size advantages, and he survived to retain his title. He battled Matt Hardy, future 2-Time TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, and John Silver, and walked away still the champion. He brought the best out in Joey Janela and Jungle Boy, and was the one to dethrone Cody Rhodes as TNT Champion to start his reign in the first place. In short, Darby’s been tested against wrestlers of all shapes and sizes and been triumphant.
Unfortunately for him, ever since he was bested by Miro, Darby has been unable to find his way back to the championship he holds dear. He gave it a very game effort during Sammy Guevara’s second reign but the inclusion of Andrade in that situation didn’t make it the best opportunity to become a 2-Time Champion. Darby’s also been pulled in different directions by The House of Black, Jarrett and Lethal, FTR, The Gunn Club, Ethan Page, and numerous others, all intent on using Darby to send a message, build their name, settle scores, whatever the case may be.
For the first time in months, if not a year, Allin find himself in a position of freedom, with nothing and no one else to worry about beyond the match in front of his face, and given that that’s a match with Samoa Joe, it’s the best timing possible for Darby to be able to focus on the task at hand. No distractions, no concerns, just Samoa Joe and the TNT Championship this Wednesday night on DYNAMITE.
Can Darby be the first one to slay the self-proclaimed King of Television since he placed that crown on his own head, and send Joe into FINAL BATTLE 2022 for his ROH World Television Championship defense against Juice Robinson short one title belt?
MOXLEY IN THE HOUSE…
https://www.youtube.com/embed/HuuB12hY4G4
Last week the former 3-Time AEW World Champion was rather unexpectedly faced with the return former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page. Not only that, but Mox had to deal with the eruption of violence that came with Hangman’s return, a violence unanticipated given that Page has not been cleared to wrestle as of yet, but clearly Page did not care what the doctors had to say.
So after fighting all over the Indiana Farmers Coliseum last week, Jon Moxley will address the Hangman situation this Wednesday night on DYNAMITE! Mox has to be fired up for a fight after that fracas, so if both men are in the house, security better be on high alert!
LOVE HER OR HAYTER…
This Wednesday night on DYNAMITE, the AEW Women’s World Champion will sit-down with Tony Schiavone to finally get a word in about her career after defeating Toni Storm at FULL GEAR 2022, and officially being recognized not as the Interim Champion, but as the Undisputed one. Hopefully this time, Hayter is left to her own devices, without Britt or Rebel in the vicinity, because it’s beginning to feel as if, when the Good Doctor is around, Hayter isn’t able to speak for herself!
THE…CHAMPION…
https://www.youtube.com/embed/RZYNNjpKA7A
He stabbed William Regal in the back, using “The Gentleman Villain” to help secure his fight over Jon Moxley at FULL GEAR 2022, before assaulting him last week on DYNAMITE. He desecrated the AEW World Championship belt so now it looks like his hideous signature scarf, and ran his mouth about everything under the sun for 20 minutes on live television before attacking Regal. And now, because he’s the AEW World Champion, we will have to suffer with MJF’s thoughts once again this Wednesday night on live television. What on Earth could Maxwell have to say about his actions last week to try and justify his choices?
TRIOS BOUT…
TBS Champion Jade Cargill & The Baddies (Red Velvet & Leila Grey)
vs.
Kiera Hogan, Madison Rayne, & Skye Blue
https://www.youtube.com/embed/1hi_8R91nF4
After weeks of standing at Jade Cargill’s side as one of her Baddies, Kiera Hogan is now on the outside looking in, but luckily she’s found herself a pair of women willing to give her a chance at redemption. This Wednesday night, Jade and her Baddies will be in Trios action against three women who all have an issue with Cargill, and who all want a shot at the TBS Championship in her possession.
Given the nature of this match, Cargill obviously doesn’t have to get defeated for her team to lose, which means she doesn’t have to get beat to see the very first loss appear on her record books. Leila and the returning Red Velvet could screw up the entire undefeated streak on Jade behalf while she’s unable to do anything about it! That’s a lot of trust to place in her Baddies, can Red Velvet and Leila Grey live up to their end of things, or will we see Hogan, Rayne, and Blue score the huge victory on Wednesday night!

On Wednesday night, AEW returns to the H-E-B Center just a few days before Ring of Honor returns to PPV for FINAL BATTLE 2022! This week brings a preview of the ROH event when Jake Hager and ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia meet Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta in tag team action. Plus, the AEW World Tag Team Champions defend their titles against the AAA/IWGP/ROH World Tag Team champions in one of AEW’s most eagerly anticipated clashes, Samoa Joe collides with Darby Allin with the TNT Championship at stake, and there is plenty more on tap for the AEW faithful from Jon Moxley, AEW World Champion MJF, and the combatants in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale!
