**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, CO!

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

AEW International Championship Match!

“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy (c.) vs. Mogul Embassy’s Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana, Brian Cage, and the Gates of Agony)!

Orange Cassidy is on a 23-match singles winning streak, and Excalibur noted that Cassidy is a bit beaten up from it.

“I think he should take a week off,” said Tony Schiavone.

“The hand, the neck, the hand, the spine, all injured in the pursuit of defending this championship,” added Excalibur.

Swerve attempted a suplex, but Cassidy defended himself with back elbows. Swerve grabbed a wrist lock, but Orange rolled through and cranked back on Swerve’s hand and arm. Swerve countered a DDT, but Orange baited Swerve in. Cassidy followed Swerve to the floor, but Swerve met the champ with a chop to the chest.

“Man, when you’re outside with Swerve Strickland you’re in trouble,” said Tony Schiavone.

Orange turned things around with a hurracanrana on the floor. Cassidy followed up with a tope and then a diving cross body. Swerve absorbed shots from the champ. Orange fired back with the Stun Dog Millionaire. Swerve anticipated Orange’s next move and put down Orange with a leaping flatliner.

Orange planted Swerve with a DDT for a two-count. Orange climbed to the top rope, but Swerve grabbed him and nailed him with a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Cassidy hit Swerve with three thrust kicks. Cassidy DDT’ed Swerve off the ring steps and onto the arena floor. And Orange stuck Swerve with another DDT for a near fall!

Orange connected with the Orange Punch and then the Beach Break for another near fall! Strickland rolled out of the ring to collect himself. Orange jumped with a tope, looking for a DDT, but Swerve caught Orange and countered with a brain buster on the floor!

“That brain buster has Orange Cassidy rocked,” said Excalibur.

Swerve climbed to the top rope and smashed Orange with a diving foot stomp for a near fall. After countering a pinning combination from Swerve, Orange rolled up Swerve, desperately grabbed Swerve’s tights, and pinned him for the victory.

The Mogul Embassy ran down, swarmed Orange and began to attack him.

The arena went black. When the lights came back on, Sting and Darby Allin were standing in the ring, coming to the aid of Orange Cassidy. The Mogul Embassy retreated!

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson came out and joined the broadcast booth.

Excalibur reported on Danielson challenging Kazuchika Okada to a match at Forbidden Door. “A dream match of epic proportions!” said Excalibur.

“They say Okada is a once in a lifetime wrestler. I am going to prove to Okada at Forbidden Door that I am better than he ever was!” said Danielson.

Trios Match!

Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, & Wheeler Yuta

vs.

CHAOS—Trent Beretta, Chuck Taylor, & Rocky Romero!

Chuck Taylor flung a chair at Mox’s head as Mox was making his entrance.

“You’ve got to take the fight right to the BCC,” said Tony Schiavone.

Chuck Taylor stuffed Yuta with a piledriver. Claudio was there to break up the pin attempt.

“We train for that. We learn to tuck in our chins for that,” said Danielson.

Claudio battered Chuck Taylor down to the mat. Rocky Romero hit Moxley with a flying knee strike. CHAOS triple teamed Moxley. Wheeler, from outside the ring, grabbed Taylor’s boot. Mox used the distraction to nail Chuck Taylor with a cutter.

Yuta landed a German Suplex on Chuck Taylor. Trent tagged in and speared Moxley, who had also just tagged in. Rocky came in and he and Trent clocked Mox with jumping knees. Trent countered a Gotch-style piledriver from Mox with a Strong Zero, with help from Chuck Taylor.

Rocky took down Mox with a flying cross arm breaker. Moxley transitioned and locked Rocky into a bulldog choke. Rocky had no choice but to tap out! Wheeler Yuta rocked Chuck Taylor with hammer and anvil elbows, even after the match ended.

“Brutality all around,” said Excalibur.

The Hung Bucks—“Hangman” Adam Page, and the Young Bucks—Nick and Matt Jackson, appeared on the big screen with a challenge!

Adam Page: “Blackpool Combat Club…great match. Next week we are in Washington, D.C., where Dynamite began. We are here to make a challenge to you three next week. Can you do it without Bryan? Can you do it without Takeshita The choice is yours.”

“Challenge accepted,” said Danielson.

A video package aired hyping the rematch between Will Ospreay and IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 25th!

We heard from AEW World Champion MJF!

MJF: “When I was told I was contractually obligated to show up to Colorado, I nearly offed myself. Because quite frankly there is not a more boring place in the world. If anyone knows about being bored, it’s me. Because there is no competition for me in this company. Nobody is on the level of the devil.”

Adam Cole’s music hit! Adam Cole walked down to the ring.

MJF: “Well if it isn’t Adam Cole, baybay. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m excited. Finally, some worthy competition for the champ. I’m a big fan of you, man. Seriously. When CM Punk up and left me when I was a kid, I thought my fandom of professional wrestling was over. But I flipped some channels, and I came across a show called Ring of Honor.

“I thought Ring of Honor sucked. Just as I was about to change the channel again, out walked Adam Cole. I was instantly, genuinely hooked. And when I started training to become a pro wrestler, I got as many of your tapes as I could get my hands on.

“I watched you become the hottest free agent in the world. I watched you go down to Florida and shock the system. You were the greatest champion in that company and that was undisputed. A little word play for you. I was a mark for Adam Cole because you were that good.

“I followed your footsteps. I went to CZW where I won gold. I signed to AEW. And I knew one day you’d make the jump, and we’d have the rivalry of a lifetime. Two generational talents. MJF versus Adam Cole. But then this guy (pointing at Cole) showed up. What happened to you, man?

“You used to be the Panama Playboy. Now you’re the Panama Gameboy. Meanwhile Britt Baker keeps leaving the house with your balls firmly in her purse. Did you used to have the physique of a world champion? Now, no offense, you’re so frail, you make crack whores jealous.

“I see what these people say online. They’re saying it’s not your fault. I say to those people that they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. This company has done everything in its power to make you cool. You know what they do to make MJF cool? They ring the freakin’ bell!

“I have beaten every top guy these people thought were on my level. What makes you think you’re going to be any different. I read a nasty rumor online. I read that a certain guy in Titan Towers didn’t think you had top guy potential. And that guy’s name was Vince McMahon. How do you not see “top guy” in Adam Cole? But now that I’m standing in the ring with you, I think Vince was right!”

Adam Cole: “Really? Was that the best that you got? This is the great MJF? You’re coming across like a toxic social media troll. I’m going to brush over the Britt part because I’m pretty sure she can beat the hell out of you. What’s your obsession with other people’s relationships? I understand your fiancé left you, but c’mon. You’re world class. You’re a world class douche bag.

“And oh my God, my body. How can we not talk about my body? It’s not like I haven’t heard that one before. But it’s my body of work—get real, you can’t touch me! If you want to go down that road, how about we both go backstage, we both pee in a couple of cups, and we see who’s natural, and who’s not! Oh, you don’t want to do that?!

“We are nothing alike. For 15 years I’ve traveled the globe and shared the locker room and those guys and those girls respect me. Max, I swear on my life, there’s not a single person back there who respects you. They think you’re selfish and lazy and do the bare minimum to walk around with that title. No one respects you!”

MJF: “Oh no, you guys don’t respect me!? How about I cry into all my money about it? That’s a lot of tough talk coming from Keith Lee’s manager.”

Cole: “There it is! You’re creating a false narrative. Because you’re afraid to fight me. You’re a coward. I know that I’m wasting my breath. If you remember anything from our conversation, you won’t fight me because I’m better than you, and they (pointing to the crowd) know it.”

MJF: “I will wrestle you any day of the week and I will beat your ass!”

Cole: “That a boy, champ. Looks like we’ve got ourselves a match.”

Adam Cole grinned and left the ring.

“Adam Cole pulling a coup here on Dynamite, getting MJF to wrestle him. Adam Cole outmaneuvering our world champion,” said Excalibur.

The Hardys and Brother Zay were backstage!

Matt Hardy said, “I’d like to introduce everyone to my new employee, Ethan Page.”

Matt made Ethan Page apologize to Brother Zay. Matt said he saw a lot of potential in Page and wanted to make him a better man.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” added Brother Zay.

Tony Khan: “It’s such an exciting time as we approach Forbidden Door on pay-per-view live from Toronto. But before that we launch Collision. In the main event of Collision, it’ll be “Switchblade” Jay White, Juice Robinson, and ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe, who will take on the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and CM Punk.”

Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis) vs. Damon Ace!

Takeshita battered Ace. Takeshita rocked Ace with the PowerDrive knee strike and then he pinned Ace.

Callis: “I’ve got something to say! Unlike last week I will be heard. You may not want to hear it, but I’m here to tell you the truth about Kenny Omega. Everything that Kenny Omega has in his life is because of me. This is all Kenny’s fault. Everything the Elite has is because of me. Kenny beat Will Ospreay because of me. Kenny Omega has been like a cancer in my body. And what do you do with cancer? You cut it out! And me and my family are going to cut the Elite out of this company for good!”

Alex Marvez knocked on Christian Cage’s locker room door.

Christian came out and said Arn Anderson took something from him, and now it was time “for me to take something from you. And by the way, your son Brock got you a very nice early Father’s Day present.”

The door opened again and a growling Luchasaurus had beaten up Brock Anderson, leaving him on the floor in shambles. Alex Marvez called for medical assistance for Brock.

TBS Championship Open Challenge Match!

Kris Statlander (c.) vs. Anna Jay A.S. (with Daddy Magic)!

Statlander used a side headlock takeover on Anna Jay. Statlander transitioned to a front face lock. Anna Jay rolled to the outside, stopping Kris’ momentum.

Daddy Magic yelled in Kris’ face, trying to distract the champ. Anna went for a kick, but Kris saw it coming and yanked Anna to the mat. Anna fired back with a roundhouse kick from behind.

Kris powerslammed Anna for a near fall. Taya Valkyrie was watching the match on a monitor backstage.

Daddy Magic jumped on the ring apron, distracting Kris. Anna Jay punched Statlander and then planted her for a two-count. Statlander clocked Anna Jay with a discus lariat. Daddy Magic jumped up on the apron again. While the champ was distracted, Anna Jay locked on the Queen Slayer. Statlander stood up and used a snap mare. Kris spiked Anna with a tombstone piledriver and pinned her!

Taya was visibly upset backstage, angrily watching the monitor.

Starks charged up the ramp at Jay White, stomping him with boots. Starks hit a clothesline on White, knocking him over the top rope. Starks chopped at Switchblade.

Ricky Starks sent White flying overhead with a big back drop. They brawled up the ramp. Starks countered a suplex with a knee and big body shots. Starks ate an elbow from Jay White. Starks suplexed Jay White on the arena floor.

Jay White retaliated with chops to Ricky’s chest and windpipe. Starks threw some heavy right hands at Jay. Switchblade punished Ricky Starks and then hoisted him onto the top turnbuckle. Jay White superplexed Ricky Starks for a near fall.

Jay White was looking for the Blade Runner, but Ricky fought out of it. Starks exploded with a lariat and then a big elbow. Ricky connected with a DDT for a near fall on Jay White.

“I don’t know how Jay White got out of that!” said Tony Schiavone.

Starks tried for the running spear, but Jay White countered with a knee! Starks came back with a second wind and connected with a spear. Starks lifted up Jay White for the Roshambo but accidentally clipped the referee in the head. The Gunns snuck down and nailed Starks with the 3:10 to Yuma! Jay White smashed Starks with the Blade Runner and pinned him.

“What is Colten and Austin Gunn’s problem with Ricky Starks?” wondered Excalibur.
