After a tumultuous edition of DYNAMITE that left Evil Uno bloodied by Jon Moxley, and saw Bryan Danielson pushed to his breaking point by MJF, All Elite Wrestling is back this Friday night with the latest edition of RAMPAGE! Kicking off the evening will be The Young Bucks back in tag team action as they take on Aussie Open, Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale will collide once more, “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer makes his return to in-ring competition, and Sammy Guevara will represent The J.A.S. in his main event match against Action Andretti!
The night gets started at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, so prior to bell time be sure to visit the official AEW YouTube channel and get caught up on DYNAMITE highlights, as well as the latest episodes of AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!
TAG TEAM BOUT…
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)
Fresh off returning to All Elite Wrestling as part of Wednesday night’s REVOLUTION 2023 Tag Team Battle Royale, Aussie Open of Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis are back in action! But unlike on DYNAMITE, they won’t be just one team among ten vying for a victory, they will be standing toe-to-toe with the definitive tag team of this generation: The Young Bucks!
These four men did this dance as part of the World Trios Championship Tournament last year, but this will be the first time they’ve ever collided in a straight up tag team bout! Both teams have something to prove here; Aussie Open likely wanting to earn a spot in the AEW tag team division while The Young Bucks want redemption for losing their last tag team outing against Top Flight, so it’s a sure bet all four individuals will be running at full speed.
Will these be a second straight tag team loss for the brothers Jackson or a chance to remind the division just why they are considered the best of a generation?
ONE-ON-ONE…
Toni Storm vs. Willow Nightingale
As Toni Storm and Saraya continue to wage their own personal war against the women of the AEW locker room, Willow Nightingale is stepping up to the fight against the former AEW Women’s World Champion this Friday night on RAMPAGE! Back in January when last they locked horns, even though it was Storm who came up on the winning end of the deal, one would’ve thought Toni was the loser given how she and Saraya assaulted Willow after the fact.
It really was that moment that got this entire situation with Ruby Soho twisted up in the first place, but now that she’s knows the score and where Toni stands, Willow’s has her opportunity for some revenge in this rematch on Friday night!
THE MURDERHAWK IS BACK!
Lance Archer hasn’t been inside an AEW ring since November 18th when he fell to Ricky Starks in the 2022 World Title Eliminator Tournament, and in the time since he saw a huge shift in his wrestling life as SUZUKI-GUN, a group of which he’d been a member for over a decade, was dissolved by Minoru Suzuki.
That was two months ago, and for the first time since that fateful evening in Tokyo, Archer returns to professional wrestling competition. What kind of violence will fans see unleashed by “The Murderhawk Monster” here in 2023?
ONE-ON-ONE…
Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti
The issues between Action Andretti and The Jericho Appreciation Society all began when Chris Jericho was upset by Andretti in their one-on-one match last December. Since then Andretti, along with Ricky Starks, has been embroiled in a bitter rivalry with Jericho and his cronies, constantly fighting against the numbers game.
Now one of Jericho’s longest-tenured AEW allies, Sammy Guevara, is looking to take up the arms on behalf of his ally this Friday night on RAMPAGE! There’s some similarity between where Andretti is now and where Guevara was in 2019; their styles of wrestling are parallel, both men who can fly with the best of them and would absolutely be labeled “daredevils”, and just as Sammy was then, Andretti is a young competitor with limitless potential.
But unlike Guevara, Andretti hasn’t thrown his stock in with the likes of Jericho. Yes, “Le Champion” is a mentor full of experience, a World Champion many times over who has lessons galore to teach, but he’s also proven himself a lowlife on numerous occasions. His primary lesson has been to win at all costs, morality be damned, which is also how Guevara has come to approach his career, and how they are in turn teaching Daniel Garcia to approach his wrestling career.
So once more, this Friday night, Action Andretti must overcome the odds that are part of battling The J.A.S. He’s done it before with that shocking victory over Jericho, and he’s got all the tools to do it again against Guevara. Action just better have eyes in the back of his head because where Guevara walks, so does Garcia, and given that it’s RAMPAGE and he’ll likely be at commentary, Chris Jericho won’t be that far away either.
Friday night RAMPAGE is back in its regular start time of 10pm ET/9pm CT, and kicks off with The Young Bucks in action against Aussie Open! Plus “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer is back in action, Willow Nightingale gets a rematch with Toni Storm, and in the main event, “Spanish God” Sammy Guevara defends the “honor” of The Jericho Appreciation Society against Action Andretti!
Before RAMPAGE starts at 10pm ET, head over to the official AEW YouTube channel to get ready for the night’s action with DYNAMITE highlights, as well as catching the most recent editions of AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and ROAD TO…, plus the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!
