It was a wild Dynamite in Bridgeport, CT and it continues on Friday with an all new Rampage! TNT TITLE MATCH…

Sammy Guevara(c) vs. Andrade El Idolo (w/ The AHFO)

https://www.youtube.com/embed/tFwKEaZcDko

The TNT Title has been a highly coveted prize since Cody Rhodes first beat Lance Archer at Double or Nothing 2019 and instituted the Open Challenge. Since that time, men from within AEW have come after the championship just as those from the outside have stepped through The Forbidden Door (before it even had a name) to try and claim the title as their own. Cody set the bar for the title, and Mr. Brodie Lee, Darby Allin, Miro, and Sammy Guevara built upon that tradition of being fighting champions. Darby stands as the longest reigning champion with the most successful defenses, Cody and Sammy are the only repeat champions, Miro and Mr. Brodie were absolutely monstrous during their respective reigns, and now Andrade El Idolo is the latest challenger aiming to add his name to the list.

Now every inch of Andrade from head-to-toe screams champion, and in every single match he competes like a champion. It feels like destiny that he will become a champion here in All Elite Wrestling, it is just a matter of when that destiny will be achieved and at whose expense. Now, with the support the AHFO’s numbers behind him, it seems increasingly likely that Andrade will join the championship pantheon sooner rather than later.

This Friday night on Rampage will be a night of triumph for one individual, that much is certain. Guevara could celebrate his third successful title defense of this 2nd TNT Championship run and turn his thoughts towards who may be the next potential challenger. Andrade could become the ninth TNT Champion, the sixth man to hold the prestigious title, as well as the first champion within the ranks of the AHFO since Matt Hardy opened his wallet to the AEW locker room.

Which man will move towards Revolution 2022 as the reigning Undisputed TNT Champion? From that above video, we know what Andrade will be doing on March 6th, but will the TNT Title be around his waist when he does it?

THE DOCTOR & LA MERA MERA…

It’s been building essentially since Dynamite: St. Patrick’s Day Slam when Thunder Rosa defeated Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D in a legendary Unsanctioned Lights Out Match. Given the standards set forth by AEW, that match carried no bearing on rankings or the record books, it was not reflected on win-loss records, nor did it carry weight towards who would get an AEW Women’s World Title match.

It would end up being the Good Doctor who got that opportunity first, and she made the most of it at Double Or Nothing 2021 when she ended Hikaru Shida’s historic 372 day championship reign. Since then it seems Baker has managed to duck, dodge, and avoid facing Thunder in a singles match despite Rosa having one of the best records in the Women’s division, and the longest singles match winning streak to date in AEW.

It was a streak in which Rosa achieved thirty straight singles victories from March 6th – December 27th before it all came to an end on 12/29 when a disguised Mercedes Martinez assaulted Rosa during her TBS Title Tournament fight with Jade Cargill. It would turn out the AEW Women’s World Champion was behind Martinez’s return to AEW, that she hired Mercedes for the expressed purpose of stopping Rosa from winning a title that wasn’t even Britt’s. That’s the kind of fear Baker apparently has when it comes to Thunder Rosa, that is how much she despises “La Mera Mera” that Britt doesn’t even want Thunder to hold any championship. The Good Doctor didn’t hamper anyone’s else road to the title, just Rosa’s, but after this Friday, there will be no more ducking the challenge. On Rampage it will be time to put pen-to-paper and make Thunder Rosa’s second ever bid at the AEW Women’s World Title official for Revolution 2022!

FACE OF THE REVOLUTION QUALIFYING MATCH…

Anthony Bowens vs. Orange Cassidy

On Wednesday night fans first witnessed Ricky Starks earn his spot in the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match by defeating The Dark Order’s Ten, and then the two qualifying Team Taz members confronted AEW’s new acquisition Keith Lee about the Revolution 2022 battle.

Between those three individuals and Wardlow, the field fighting for a future TNT Title shot is already quite loaded, and on Friday night another individual will be added to the contest! “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy will try to overcome Anthony Bowens in order to earn the fifth slot in the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match! Wherever Bowens goes, Max Caster is sure to follow, and given how Caster failed to win his opportunity, there is little doubt The Acclaimed will pull out all the stops to insure one of their numbers makes the cut.

Thankfully OC has his fair share of friends to even the score; some are Besties, some are a little evil, and there might even be a curse thrown around, but a certain thing is that none of them are going to let Max insert himself into this match without suffering some consequences. The Acclaimed like to claim that everyone loves them, but we shall all see how far that loves goes if they try to stack the deck against the beloved Orange Cassidy, especially when a future TNT Title match will quite literally be hanging in the balance come March 6th!

THE PROFESSOR’S 5 MINUTE CHALLENGE CONTINUES…

https://www.youtube.com/embed/7xZCGj3Cg-E

Once more one woman will be given the chance to step into the ring with “The Professor of Professional Wrestling” to try and beat her 5 Minute Challenge. The sadistic streak Serena Deeb demonstrated en route to decimating (albeit after blindsiding) Hikaru Shida several weeks ago has also given bloom to the massive arrogant streak that birthed this challenge. Two other women have tried to survive this, but combined they’ve only lasted three minutes, and in large part that’s only because Deeb was playing with her food.

Can whoever steps up to the challenge this Friday night last longer than her predecessors? Could it actually be someone who survives the five minutes, or perhaps even beats Serena Deeb in the process? We shall find out when Rampage hits the airwaves this Friday night!

ONE-ON-ONE…

“The War Dog” Wardlow vs. Nick Comoroto

They are two of the biggest men in the AEW locker room, absolute powerhouse monsters capable of tossing anyone on the roster around like a proverbial rag doll. We have seen Wardlow be one of the most dominating presences in All Elite Wrestling since he arrived at MJF’s side, and once Wardlow had his first match (inside a Steel Cage no less) he has proven himself an absolute threat to all. Wardlow should have been the man to hand CM Punk his first loss in AEW, but Max (whether inadvertently or intentionally) made sure it wasn’t War Dog’s name in that bit of the record book, but rather his own. Now he stands on the precipice of the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match and a potential TNT Title match (a prize MJF has flat out said he expects Wardlow to hand over should he win it), but it’s not an easy path to March 6th with a beast like Comoroto on his plate.

Nick, under the tutelage of QT Marshall, has made an impact on quite a few bodies but has yet to secure that high-profile victory to boosts his AEW profile. This is a prime opportunity for The Factory’s beast to demonstrate his power, and show the world he is a true force with which to be reckoned!

Will Wardlow continue building momentum as he aims to climb the ladder of success? Or will it be The Factory’s Beast who shocks the world this Friday night?

On Friday night Rampage is coming at you from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT at its regular start time of 10pm EST/9pm CST on TNT, and at AEWPlus.com for international audiences. A spot in the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match will be on the line, Serena Deeb has another challenge waiting, Wardlow will try to powerbomb the Factory’s Beast, and it all kicks off with Sammy Guevara defending the TNT Title against Andrade El Idolo!
