On Wednesday night’s edition of DYNAMITE, with DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2023 less than two weeks away, three of the Four Pillars were in action ahead of their AEW World Championship fight with MJF! Darby Allin picked up a victory in tag action alongside Orange Cassidy while Sammy Guevara got his in under a minute in singles action, leaving “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry to win a bloody war of attrition against LFI’s Rush! In addition, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy offered all challengers to come fight him at DOUBLE OR NOTHING for his championship, resulting in the first-ever Blackjack Battle Royale, Wardlow challenging Christian Cage to fight him in a Ladder Match for the TNT Championship, a wild Falls Count Anywhere victory for Roderick Strong, and so much more!

SIX-MAN TAG ACTION…
The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) and Daddy Ass vs. Varsity Athletes (Ari Daviari, Josh Woods, & Tony Nese)
https://www.youtube.com/embed/YVnnpl5Yb1o?start=241
They’re free of any entanglements with The Jericho Appreciation Society, they’ve got the world in front of them rife with possibilties, and with that in their minds, The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass head into Trios competition once more this Friday on RAMPAGE!
After last week’s victory over The Butcher, The Blade, and Kip Sabian, the Scissoring Unit is 3-0 in Trios action, and let’s not forget their victory in the Tres de Mayo Trios Battle Royale. Bowens, Caster, and Daddy Ass are on fire right now, and that could very well mean the AEW World Trios Championship titles are in their sights.
But this Friday on RAMPAGE, “Smart” Mark Sterling’s Varsity Athletes unit will be aiming to derail their momentum, and begin to build their own! Daivari, Woods, and Nese don’t have a great deal of experience operating as a trio, they’re only 1-1 in AEW competition, but they are all on the same page when it comes to doing whatever needs to be done to secure victory. Factor in Sterling’s willingness to bend, or rather break, the rules for his clients, compile it all with the natural athletic gifts these three men possess, and the Varsity Athletes are a strong threat to The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass. “Smart” Mark would also love a little bit of retribution on these men considering his failed bid to steal The Acclaimed’s music, their merchandise, and their entire trademark last October. Will the AEW faithful be scissoring up in Austin come Friday night?
TRIOS BOUT…
Blackpool Combat Club (ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Bandido and Best Amigos (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)
“Be real”; it’s a moniker The Blackpool Combat Club have been wearing as of late, and rather akin to a credo by which they function. For them, come next Sunday night in Las Vegas, during DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2023, that realness will come in the form of another Anarchy In The Arena war, this time with a reunited Elite!
But before that violence comes, there is a matter of a Trios bout this Friday evening with former ROH World Champion Bandido and the Best Amigos of Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta! This will mark that trios second time uniting, the previous outing being their AEW World Trios Championship Match against The House of Black last week on DYNAMITE. It marked Bandido, Chuck, and Trent as the first unit to experience Open House Rules, and it clearly created a bond between the three.
Will that bond be strong enough to survive the brutal onslaught that is inevitable when facing The Blackpool Combat Club? With Anarchy in The Arena officially looming in just nine days, The BCC are going to want to sharpen their iron to a cutting edge, and anyone who steps into the ring with them beforehand had best be prepared for violence…
TBS CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN CHALLENGE…
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Qk-nHhfXDFY?start=241
Jade Cargill is a phenomenon in All Elite Wrestling; in just two years since her first professional wrestling match, the reigning TBS Champion has racked up an impressive 57 victories, 49 of them in singles competition, and 22 of those as championship defenses. No one in AEW has amassed that kind of streak, and only Orange Cassidy’s International Championship run comes close to touching Cargill’s accolades as champ. She’s beaten Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, Taya Valkyrie, Skye Blue, Athena, Madison Rayne, Red Velvet, Anna Jay, and Julia Hart, as well as numerous others just hoping to find their break into All Elite Wrestling by breaking the streak.
Although several have come close, Taya Valkyrie possibly the closest given the actions Jade and company took to defeat her, none have been able to pull off the seemingly impossible, which has in turn, for better or worse, created a very confident TBS Champion.
That confidence is once again leading Jade to offering an Open Challenge this Friday night in Austin, giving any woman a chance to try and do what none have been able to thus far. It could be a prospect hoping to make her name, it could be one of the women already in the AEW locker room who has had their fill of seeing Cargill as champion; either way, this is an opportunity for one woman to make history!
SINGLES MATCH…
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. The Mogul Embassy’s Bishop Kaun
https://www.youtube.com/embed/yiLljGUpd30?start=241
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes is coming home to Austin this Friday, and with that homecoming also a fight with his inherited enemies. As of late, Rhodes has allied himself with “Limitless” Keith Lee and with that has also come Lee’s enemies, specifically Swerve Strickland, and thus also his allies in wrestling.
That means The Mogul Embassy, that means men like Brian Cage, Tau Liona, and as is the case this Friday night, Bishop Kaun. It’s a rare singles match for Kaun, an opportunity to put down a wrestling legend in front of his hometown fans, and a chance for The Mogul Embassy to send a message to Keith Lee through his tag team partner.
For Dustin, it’s the chance to show he’s still got that fire in his belly, the fight that has sustained him for all these years, and made him a top competitor wherever he has walked. It’s an opportunity to step it up in front of his city, his people, and send a message back to Swerve, Prince Nana, and company, that he and “Limitless” are not to be trifled with.
It’s going to be smashmouth affair come Friday night when that bell rings! Will it be the numbers advantage of The Mogul Embassy that comes out on top, or the experience of Dustin Rhodes that wins the day? Tune into TNT starting at 6:30pm ET/5:30pm CT to see how this all unfolds!
RAMPAGE comes to you this Friday night at an earlier start of 6:30pm ET/5:30pm CT, well as at AEWPlus.com for AEW’s international fans, so head to the official AEW YouTube channel for highlights from this week’s episode of DYNAMITE as well as the latest editions of ROAD TO, THE CONTROL CENTER, and much, much more!
