The Broccoli City Festival 2024 promised to be an electrifying event, blending the vibrancy of live music with a commitment to health and sustainability. As one of the most anticipated cultural festivals in Washington, D.C., that year’s festival was set to continue its tradition of celebrating contemporary music, wellness, and community engagement.

 

Taken place Saturday, July 27th & Sunday July 28th, 2024, the festival featured a diverse array of top-tier talent, with headlining acts such as Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, Lil Yachty, and Concrete Family. Joining them was an impressive roster of acclaimed artists, including PartyNextDoor, Victoria Monet, Kaytranada, Key Glock, Sexxy Red, and many more, ensuring there was something for every music lover to enjoy.

This year’s edition treated fans to the exciting takeover by Disney with their upcoming 20th Century Studios film Alien: Romulus. This film, set to release on August 16, 2024, is the latest addition to the iconic Alien franchise, which began with Ridley Scott’s original film in 1979. FILM SYNOPSIS

“Alien: Romulus” takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2”) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. “Alien: Romulus” is produced by Ridley Scott (“Napoleon”), who directed the original “Alien” and produced and directed the series’ entries “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Pruss (“Boston Strangler”), and Walter Hill (“Alien”), with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (“Charlie’s Angels”), Brent O’Connor (“Bullet Train”), and Tom Moran (“Unstoppable”) serving as executive producers.
