As first reported by “Variety,” Batista is set to star in another science fiction epic, the highly anticipated, new adaptation of “Dune.” The role will reunite The Animal with “Blade Runner 2049” director Denis Villeneuve.

While Batista’s role is being kept secret for now, he joins Timothée Chalamet and “Mission Impossible’s” Rebecca Ferguson in the film, which will be the first adaptation of “Dune” since director David Lynch’s 1984’s cult classic starring Kyle MacLachlan.
Batista’s 2019 is shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s busiest as he is also featured in two comedies, “Stuber” and “My Spy,” as well as “Avengers: End Game.”
