CinemaCon 2025 Universal Focus Features Panel Announcements

Universal Pictures and Focus Features kicked off day 3 of CinemaCon. From Universal and Focus Features fans can expect news related to upcoming releases like Jurassic World Rebirth, How To Train Your Dragon, M3GAN 2.0, Bad Guys 2, Him, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, and more.

CinemaCon 2025 Universal & Focus Features Panel Announcements

Universal began their panel with a live orchestra, led by Rickey Minor, performing some of Universal’s most iconic scores including the studio’s fanfare, Back tot he Future, Jurassic Park, How To Train Your Dragon Psycho, Jaws, Fast and Furious, Despicable Me, Shrek, Conclave, Oppenheimer, E.T., and Wicked. 

Jurassic World Rebirth- July 2, 2025

Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Gareth Edwards share about the new dinosaur adventure.

Johansson told attendees that this is her “lifelong dream to be in a Jurassic movie.”

“Filming in Thailand was incredible.” – Ali 

“I wanted the audience to feel like they were on a roller coaster ride.”- Edwards

“Put the scares back in Jurassic. Keep the dinosaurs hidden…” – Johansson 

New Trailor: A containment breach followed by a horrifying death by dinosaur. Only the worst dinosaurs have been left behind after the experiments. “Survival is a long shot.” Based on this latest trailer, the dinosaur action definitely looks scarier than before with one alien looking one that shows up towards the end of the trailer. 

Gabby’s Dollhouse The Movie – September 26, 2025

Laila Lockhart Cramer, Kristen Wiig, Gloria Estefan, star in Gabby’s first big screen adventure. The first trailer shows Gabby, Pandy, and the dollhouse taking a trip to Gabby’s grandmother’s house. But the dollhouse gets taken by a crazy cat lady and it’s up to the cats, Gabby, and her grandmother to get it back.

This film is a hybrid of animation and live action like the show. 

Bad Guys 2- August 1, 2025

Awkwafina and Craig Robinson take the stage to show off the trailer for Bad Guys 2. The story follows the newly reformed Bad Guys who are lured back into crime by a group called the Bad Girls. 

In the trailer, Wolf is happy they have all turned over a new leaf.  But soon he and the others are roped into a new crime by a group called the Bad Girls. They plan to “help” the bad girls but then double cross them. The stakes are higher, the action crazier (including space shots) and plenty of humor fans love. 

How To Train Your Dragon- June 13, 2025

Gerard Butler (Stoick), Director Dean DeBlois, and Nico Parker (Astrid) reveal that there is already a plan for the next live-action Dragon adaptation. 

How To Train Your Dragon 2 is coming June 11, 2027.

HIM – September 19, 2025

Stars Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers reveal this film is sports meet horror. When a college football superstar gets sidelined by an injury, he gets an opportunity to be coached by the player he has always looked up to. But be careful what you wish for. 

Wayans teased weird stuff, secrets while Withers says “you’ve never seen Marlon like this, not ever.” 

First teaser starts out like a typical sports movie. There is the training, the games, the hardwork, and the agony of trying to make a comeback after an injury. But then it switches and the horrors begin. “What am I willing to sacrifice?” 

Nobody 2 – August 15,  2025

It’s Summer vacation and the family plans to take a trip. Everything is fine until someone messes with Nobody’s kids. But what he uncovers are a bootleg operation, drugs, crooked cops, and other bad guys. The teaser showed kick-ass action fans want from a follow-up to the successful film.

Wes Anderson’s latest boasts a star-studded cast, striking visuals, and a twisted story. 

Bugonia- November 7, 2025

A teaser was shown that makes this film look like a solid conspiracy thriller. 

Downton Abbey The Grand Finale- September 12, 2025

Beautiful sendoff to the family and staff fans love. There is a special picture of Dame Maggie Smith shown in the trailer. I

Five Night At Freddy’s 2- December 5, 2025

Jason Blum comes out on stage dressed as Freddy and says it’s time to go back to the twisted world of those PG-13 animatronics. The first look teaser shows they’ve left Freddy’s and are outside in the world everywhere causing problems. 

The Black Phone 2- October 17, 2025

Madeleine McGraw joined Blum on stage. As we know from the first one, “Death isn’t always the end.” Blum shares he think it’s scarier than the first one. 

Black Phone 2 Trailer- Looks insanely scary and creepy. Close to the end The Grabber says “did you think our story was over?”

M3GAN 2.0 – June 27, 2025

Violet McGraw comes out on stage, checking to see if M3GAN is anywhere around. 

When a new AI comes online named Amelia, they have to restart M3GAN in order to defeat her. But MEGAN demands some upgrades in order to help. 30 MEGAN’s take the stage to dance to Oops! I Did it Again (which is also the song featured in the trailer). 

The new trailer begins with “Yesterday” by Boyz II Men as M3GAN recaps the first movie. Then there is a lot of shots of MEGAN coming back online and battling Amelia in order to protect Katie. “This bitch vs that bitch.”

SOULM8TE- January 2026

James Wan comes out to join Blum on stage. They tease an adult version of M3GAN. The PG-13 psycho doll but for grownups? What could possibly go wrong?

Meet Sara she’s like MEGAN but an adult. When her man falls in love with a real person…she loses her shit.

Wicked For Good – November 21, 2025

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo on stage along with director Jon M. Chu.

First look at Wicked For Good: Glinda runs outside as bell chimes, she knows that Elphaba is out there. Elphaba says this is between her and the Wizard. We see Glinda put on the crown while Prince Fiyero leads the Green Soldiers.  “Our wizard lies.” We also saw images of Glinda marrying Fiyero, Dorothy on the yellow brick road, and the cowardly lion is an actual lion. The song for the trailer is “For Good.”
