The opening day of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 kicked off in spectacular fashion at Zayed Sports City Stadium, with a unified football match bringing out not only the competitive spirits of Special Olympics athletes, but also the support of a vibrant crowd, WWE Superstars, football legends and other Olympians.
WWE Superstar Finn Bálor, who was in Abu Dhabi for the past several days to support the Special Olympics World Games, appeared at the Unified Sports Experience and joined in the festivities, as did three-time Olympian short-track speed skater Apolo Ohno and American sabre fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad. Coaching the athletes in the unified match were Special Olympics Global Ambassadors, former Chelsea and Marseille striker Didier Drogba and Brazilian World Cup winner Cafu.
Bálor also laced up his cleats and joined the athletes on the pitch. How did he do? He posted a sample of his footwork on his Instagram.
