On the Jan. 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Naomi battled SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a heated Championship Contender’s Match. Just when it looked as if Naomi might score a count-out victory over the titleholder, however, WWE Official Sonya Deville emerged to “clarify” that the match could not be won by count-out. Then, in another critical moment later on, Deville again “clarified” that the match couldn’t be won by disqualification either, but only via pinfall or submission. When all was said and done, The Queen ultimately emerged victorious over The Glowing Superstar with Natural Selection.
When Naomi stood up to the unfair practices of Deville the following week, WWE Official Adam Pearce decided that she, in fact, deserved another opportunity to prove herself against Flair.
Don’t miss what is sure to be an explosive rematch between the self-proclaimed “Opportunity” and her determined opponent, two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi, next Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.
