This week, most of us at Ring of Honor are in the #ROHBubble as we prepare for our next round of TV tapings.
Everyone here has already passed a COVID-19 test and had to take another test Tuesday. Once that test is cleared we will be allowed to work on the tapings closer to the end of the week. We all have individual rooms. There are no roommates and we are not allowed to leave our rooms until we’ve been cleared.
It’s the same thing we had to do for our last round of TV tapings. For now, this is our new norm.
Like most of the world, we are having to adjust to a brand new system and set of rules. Whether we like it or not, it is what it is for the time being.

Going into my first round of TV tapings a couple months ago, I was unsure how things would turn out because of all the preparation and testing needed even before we arrived. But at those tapings, Ring of Honor proved to us how much they care about our well-being, and the athletes proved how much they love this sport.
What amazed me was how evident it was that everybody took the time we had off as time to make themselves better. Getting in better shape, a better state of mind, and even coming up with new looks. It almost took something like this for us to reset, rebuild and get back to the foundation that Ring of Honor was built upon.
Every time I see a positive review for our shows, I think about how much work and sacrifice were put into them. I also think about how everybody who participated, from production to talent, is more than willing to adhere to the protocols to get back to work because we love our jobs.

It’s made me look at things from a new perspective. Sometimes it takes these things to happen in life for us to realize what we’re made of and what we’re capable of, and to expose what we’ve gotten used to or comfortable with over time and the simple things we’ve taken for granted. To be honest, life is full of new norms and unexpected events. The question is: Do we have the ability to dig deep in these times and come out better, or are we so overwhelmed by the changes that we bury ourselves and wait?
I’m aware that everybody’s circumstances are different. This time has given me a new appreciation for my faith, family, and my job. It may have taken a pandemic for me to see it, but I don’t want it to take that for me to continue to appreciate it in the future.
Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
