Jonathan Gresham has been nearly unbeatable the past two years, but Dragon Lee was the one man who had his number.
But not anymore.
Gresham scored a decisive victory over Lee to kick off a week of Road to Final Battle matches on YouTube.
Gresham had been 0-3 against Lee in singles matches in his career, and 0-3 against Lee in tag matches this year.
“The Octopus” now heads into his ROH World Title Match against champion Bandido at the Final Battle: End of an Era pay-per-view this Saturday in Baltimore riding a wave of momentum.
Gresham, a former ROH Pure and World Tag Team champion, and Lee, a two-time former ROH World Television and World Tag Team champion, engaged in an intense, hard-hitting battle right from the opening bell.
After Lee stunned Gresham with a knee strike to the back of the head and followed by a running knee to the jaw, he set up for Incinerator. However, when Lee charged across the ring, the resilient Gresham turned him inside out with a clothesline.
Gresham then wore down Lee with a sleeper hold and nailed him with a running forearm to the back of the head to score the three count.
