This Thursday, Ring of Honor is back in Pittsburgh for the first time since November 2, 2019 and THE EXPERIENCE 2019 event available with your Honor Club subscription! With this return to the Steel City comes a tremendous collection of matches featuring ROH Women’s World Champions Athena welcoming Lady Frost onto The Proving Ground, The Infantry trying their hand against LFI one more time, The Best Friends making their ROH ON HONOR CLUB debut, Rocky Romero in action against Lee Moriarty, Blake Christian versus Gringo Loco, and so much more!

The bouts get underway at 7pm ET/6pm CT exclusively on Honor Club, your home for more than twenty years of Ring of Honor history, as well as new episodes of the most influential wrestling company of this century dropping every single Thursday night! ROH WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PROVING GROUND MATCH…

“The Fallen Goddess” Athena(c) vs. Lady Frost

Lady Frost and Athena may be strangers as far as in-ring opponents, but Frost is no stranger to Ring of Honor competition. Back in 2019, at STEEL CITY EXCELLENCE, a very inexperienced Lady Frost made her first appearance inside a ROH ring, and would go on to compete on several FUTURE OF HONOR events that year. As her level of experience grew, Frost would actually earn an opportunity to challenge for the ROH Women’s World Champions last year, on 3/17/22 to be exact, during the reign of Deonna Purrazzo and on an episode of IMPACT WRESTLING television oddly enough.

Frost made her return to ROH competition last month, losing to Willow Nightingale on the very first Honor Club episode, and would also fall to Skye Blue a few weeks later on the fourth episode. This week, Frost returns to ROH competition in her highest profile bout to date, a Proving Ground match against Athena with a potential shot at the ROH Women’s World Championship at stake!

Now the rules of the Proving Ground are simple; either defeat the champion in this non-title affair or last the time limit, and earn a future championship match. Simple on paper, not so much in execution, especially when the champion is a “Fallen Goddess” running on a 20-0 record in ROH competition, who has successfully defended her title on eight occasions, and is drawing comparisons to Samoa Joe’s record-setting ROH World Championship reign, not so much in length as Athena still has a long way to go to reach that, but rather in the complete dominance she’s exhibited.

Be it on the Proving Ground or in a championship match, it hasn’t yet felt like Athena’s been in jeopardy, and that’s not sleight against the level of competition she’s faced, but rather a credit to just how strong a champion she has been since besting Mercedes Martinez at FINAL BATTLE 2022.

Will Lady Frost be the one to hand Athena her first “L” in this new era of honor, or will she simply become another piece of porcelain smashed at Athena’s feet?

A RETURN TO HONOR!

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) vs. Mookie Summers & Joe Ocasio

It has been over four years since the last time the Best Friends set foot inside a ROH ring together, ironically enough considering the circumstances of today, against the tandem of Juice Robinson and David Finlay.

But this Thursday night on Honor Club, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta will return to those familiar stomping grounds for tag team competition! In their first go-round with Ring of Honor, Chuckie T and Trent challenged for both the ROH World Tag Titles as well as the World Six Man belts, but never managed to achieve championship success.

Perhaps this new era of honor will be their ticket to finally claiming gold in ROH, and if that is indeed their intent, it begins this Thursday night on Honor Club!

REMATCH, WITH A TWIST…

LFI (Preston Vance & Rush) vs. The Infantry (Capt. Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo)

Three weeks ago, in the aftermath of SUPERCARD OF HONOR 2023, The Infantry attempted to survive the onslaught of La Faccion Ingobernable, that night in the form of Rush and Dralistico, but Capt. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo were smashed down in their valiant efforts. This week on Honor Club, The Infantry will try to topple LFI once more, this time in the form of former 2-Time ROH World Champion Rush and the debuting “Perro Peligroso” Preston Vance!

It might be Vance’s first time competing inside the ROH squared circle, but Ring of Honor was one of many things that inspired him to enter into the wrestling world in the first place several years ago. This opportunity to finally compete in the ring that helped inspire him to action is going to push Vance to make a statement this Thursday night. La Faccion Ingobernable aims to remind everyone how they ran roughshod over ROH not that long ago.
