Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”
Beer City Bruiser vs. Mike Bennett
The beer bottle that Beer City Bruiser smashed over Matt Taven’s head a couple months ago was symbolic of the months of frustration that he had kept bottled up finally exploding.
Tired of losing matches and (in his mind) not being taken seriously, Bruiser made it clear that the good-natured wrestler who played by the rules will now do whatever it takes it to win and doesn’t care what anyone thinks about it.
“I’m sick and tired of being the fun-loving drunk that everybody has a beer with but not getting anywhere, not getting any opportunity,” Bruiser said. “Well, Bennett, it starts with you. The Beer City Bruiser is gonna win by any means necessary.”
Bennett is looking for payback, not only for what Bruiser did to his best friend Taven, but also for Bruiser going after his injured ankle during the match between The Bouncers (Bruiser and Brawler Milonas) and The OGK (Bennett and Taven).
“What you’re going to see against Beer City is not a random act of violence,” Bennett said. “You’re going to see a very methodical, deliberate act of violence.”
Pure Wrestling Gauntlet Match
The participants for this first-ever match have not been announced.
A note about the rules: A wrestler’s rope breaks and closed-first warnings will carry over into each match they compete in.
