Beer City Bruiser pre-match comments

Mike Bennett pre-match comments

Beer City Bruiser vs. Mike Bennett

Matt Taven, who had a beer bottle smashed over his head by Bruiser after he and Bennett defeated Bruiser and Brawler Milonas in a tag match two months ago, sat in on commentary. Bruiser attacked Bennett from behind before the opening bell and brutalized him outside the ring. Bruiser worked over Bennett’s injured right ankle. Bennett rallied and hit a double boot to the face for a near fall. Bruiser answered with a modified DDT and went for a cover, but Bennett got his foot on the bottom rope.

Bruiser retrieved a beer bottle from under the ring and broke it on the ring post. He entered the ring carrying a jagged piece of the broken bottle. The referee immediately disqualified Bruiser. Thankfully, Taven left the announce table and stopped Bruiser from using the weapon on Bennett. Bruiser quickly exited.

Pure Wrestling Gauntlet Match

Dante Caballero vs. Will Ferrara

This was Ferrara’s first match on ROH television since August 2018, when he lost a Fight Without Honor to Cheeseburger (now World Famous CB). Ferrara is a coach at the ROH Dojo and Caballero is one of his students.

Ferrara gained the advantage with a wristlock driver that sent Caballero to the mat head first. Ferrara began working on Caballero’s left arm. Ferrara caught Caballero in a crucifix for a two count. Caballero powered out into a fireman’s carry and hit a modified GTS followed by a single-leg dropkick. Ferrara used a double-leg takedown and turned it into a pinning combination for the win at 5:56.

Ferrara vs. World Famous CB

The former friends who became bitter enemies stood face to face. Ferrara said the past is behind them, and they adhered to the Code of Honor. Ferrara applied a crossface, but CB used the first of his three allotted rope breaks. CB hit a modified powerbomb and stacked up Ferrara for the three count at 4:15.

World Famous CB vs. Eric Martin

Martin, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound ROH Dojo student, is seven inches taller and nearly 100 pounds heavier than CB. He connected with a boot to the face and followed with a rapid series of elbow drops. Martin took CB down with a double leg, and CB used his second rope break. Martin hit a clothesline for a near fall. CB rallied with a Dragon Screw leg-whip and a basement superkick for a near fall. Martin answered with a Northern Lights suplex into a Boston Crab, and CB used his third and final rope break. CB caught Martin in Nuno de la Muerte, and Martin tapped out at 6:03.

World Famous CB vs. Wheeler Yuta

These two are no strangers, as Yuta has trained under CB at the Worldwide Dojo. CB immediately began going for pins in an attempt to end it early since this was his third match and he’s out of rope breaks. Yuta applied a Hangman submission hold, but CB escaped. Yuta planted CB with a flying DDT off the top rope for the victory at 3:08.

Yuta vs. Fred Yehi

This was fast-paced right from the start. Yuta hit a high crossbody off the top rope but Yehi rolled through and got a two count. Yuta hit a basement dropkick, and Yehi rolled out of the ring. Yehi pulled Yuta outside the ring with him and hit an exploder suplex on the floor. Yuta applied a heel lock, and Yehi used his first rope break. Yehi applied the Koji Clutch, but Yuta wrenched Yehi’s left ankle, which Yuta had been working over earlier. Yehi released the hold, but then applied the Koji Clutch from the other side, so his left ankle was not exposed. Yuta tapped out at 6:24.
