ROH World Title Claimants Jonathan Gresham, Bandido Have Confrontation At Terminus Show

January 18, 2022

Jonathan Gresham and Bandido, each in possession of an ROH World Title belt and claiming to be the true champion, came face to face at the Terminus debut show Sunday night in Atlanta.

After Gresham’s title defense against former Impact World Champion Josh Alexander ended in a draw (double pin), Bandido came down to the ring and confronted him. Earlier in the show, Bandido has successfully defended his title against Baron Black.

Following a brief verbal exchange, Gresham extended his hand to Bandido, but before the handshake could take place, AEW’s Santana came down to the ring and challenged Gresham to put his title on the line against him at the next Terminus show on Feb. 24.

Gresham accepted the challenge and then told Bandido that the time would come for them to face off.

Bandido had been scheduled to defend the ROH World Title against Gresham at Final Battle: End of an Era on Dec. 11, but Bandido tested positive for COVID-19 two days before the event.

AEW’s Jay Lethal replaced Bandido in the match, which was now for the original ROH World Title belt. Gresham defeated Lethal to become the champion.

Gresham has made five successful title defenses of the original ROH World Championship belt, including a victory over former WWE, WCW and ECW star 2 Cold Scorpio at GCW’s Say You Will show on Saturday in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Gresham is scheduled to defend the title against Steve Maclin on Impact this Thursday on AXS TV and against Blake Christian at GCW’s The WRLD on GCW on Jan. 23 in Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center in New York.
