What started as a dream night for The New Day finished as a nightmare after Big E was split from Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods on Night One of the WWE Draft.
Big E opened the night with a grueling Falls Count Anywhere win over Sheamus. Then, Kingston & Woods reunited in a SmackDown Tag Team Championship showdown against Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro. Despite not having competed together in months, The New Day tandem reclaimed the titles and began their seventh reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The celebration didn’t last long, as the decorated trio quickly learned their WWE Draft fate. Kingston & Woods were announced as the newest additions to the red brand, while Big E was selected by SmackDown.
The New Day were in a state of shock as the news rocked the WWE Universe. In the aftermath, Woods tried to keep a sense of humor about the stunning development.
