Three years after capturing the Intercontinental Championship on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Zack Ryder lived out another WrestleMania moment on Sunday by winning the Raw Tag Team Championship alongside his longtime Broski Curt Hawkins, helping to end his friend’s losing streak in the process. But the sentimentality surrounding the victory didn’t stop there.
On Instagram, Ryder revealed that his ring attire at WrestleMania was inspired by many things, including his hero-turned-friend, WWE Legend Christian. The newly crowned Raw Tag Team Champion admitted that Captain Charisma’s famous white-and-gold gear sported at WrestleMania XX was the muse for his own attire’s “colors & designs.” As for the logos, Ryder noted that each represented “different eras” from his WWE career.
In response to playing a part in Ryder’s ring gear, Christian acknowledged Ryder’s momentous WrestleMania win, tweeting, “I’m proud of you kid.”
