Based on the novel by Andy Weir and adapted for the screen by Drew Goddard, the film follows Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a middle-school science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship light-years from Earth with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. The bond between Ryan Gosling and Rocky is truly the heart of the film.
