***CONTAINS SPOILERS*** Tonight’s raucous episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the H.E.B. Center in Austin, TX! Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Jim Ross were the broadcast team for tonight’s event. The opening contest was Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page, the AEW World Tag Team Champions, against the #1 ranked challengers, SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky, accompanied by “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels). The belts were at stake! Before the bell rang, the Dark Order appeared on the screen atop the entrance ramp and said the Exalted One was coming soon! Chris Daniels told SCU he’d go to the back, leaving ringside to investigate whatever Dark Order may be planning. Omega isolated Frankie’s shoulder with Steamboat-esque arm drag takeovers. Scorpio Sky kicked Omega in the back with a cheap shot. Omega was rolled up by Frankie for a two count! SCU were vicious tonight, showing a bit of a mean streak. Scorpio Sky hit a beautiful flat liner on Omega. They went for SCU Later but Page ran in to prevent it. Omega took down Sky with a hurracanrana, then a shotgun drop kick to Frankie, knocking him to the outside. Sky interfered again, but Omega took out both members of SCU as he hurled himself over the top rope to the outside! Omega hit a fishermen’s buster on Sky for a near fall, and then tagged in Page. Sky was tossed back with a fall away slam from Page. Kazarian knocked “Hangman” off the top rope, and then muscled Omega into the corner turnbuckles. “It’s almost a back-to-basics approach from SCU,” said Excalibur. SCU racked up a number of timely, quick tags, and worked over Omega’s lower back. Frankie hit a low cross body on Omega, and then applied body scissors. Omega found the fighting spirit deep down inside and powered up to his feet, trying to make the tag. Page wasn’t available, tending to his own injury. Finally Omega found “Hangman” for the tag, who worked as a one-man wrecking crew on SCU! Page was connecting with consecutive running clotheslines in opposite sides of the ring to SCU! Page went for the Buckshot Lariat, but Kazarian got out of the way. SCU used a swinging assisted DDT for a very near fall on Page! Kazarian hit a cutter on Omega, and SCU had the champs in stereo submission holds, but Omega was able to knock him and his partner free. Omega used the V-trigger, and then a snapdragon suplex on Kazarian. Page powerbombed Kazarian, and then they finished things off with the Buckshot Lariat-V-Trigger combo on Kazarian for the pin! Page celebrated in what has become typical Page fashion as of late…by downing some frosty beverages from the fans at ringside. Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, and the Dark Order surrounded SCU in the ring! Chuck Taylor and Trent, the Best Friends, ran down to the defense of SCU. The Butcher, the Blade, and the Bunny, and then The Hybrid2 (Angelico and Jack Evans) surrounded SCU and the Best Friends, to even up the odds with the Dark Order. The Young Bucks, Nick and Matt Jackson, sprinted down to the ring and dished out super kicks and dropkicks, clearing the ring of TH2 and the Butcher and the Blade! The Dark Order retreated from the chaos. Orange Cassidy joined his Best Friends and the Young Bucks and they hugged it out. An interview was played that had been conducted earlier in an empty arena, where Jim Ross talked to Santana, who promised Jon Moxley that he would learn what it’s like to live in the dark permanently when Santana gets his revenge. This was followed by “the Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. “the Spanish God” Sammy Guevara (with Jake Hager)! Rhodes got a great ovation from his hometown crowd. Sammy immediately darted to the outside as Dustin charged for him. Hager tried to distract Dustin as Sammy came back in from the opposite side, but it didn’t work—Dustin clobbered Sammy with a thrust to the throat! Sammy tried to run, but Dustin was more than willing to take the fistfight to the outside of the ring. Sammy tried for a springboard but Dustin caught him and dropped him face first. “A really good veteran counter,” said Jim Ross. Dustin hit two lariats on the 26-year old Guevara, and then a power slam. The crowd chanted “You still got it!” Dustin climbed to the top rope and was distracted by Hager. Sammy took advantage of the opportunity and hit a GTS on Dustin for a two count! They went back to the top, and Dustin rocked Sammy with the Canadian Destroyer! Dustin got the three count after the Final Reckoning! Hager was helping Sammy to the back. Dustin grabbed the microphone and said, “Hey, turn around!” He pointed to Hager and said, “You broke my arm and I want a piece of you at REVOLUTION!” Hager started to return to the ring, but Sammy talked him out of it…for now. Tony Schiavone interviewed Dr. Britt Baker at the top of the entrance ramp. Baker said she knocked out Yuka Sakazaki’s tooth last week, because the tooth needed to come out…“and I extracted it for free!” Schiavone asked Baker for her insight into the match scheduled for later in the evening with AEW Women’s Champion RIHO defending against “the Native Beast” Nyla Rose. Baker replied: “Nyla Rose and RIHO are still number two compared to me! I am a role model. I have three degrees. I was the first woman signed to All Elite Wrestling. This is my division! What I did last week was a statement!” The AEW Women’s World Title was on the line as champion RIHO wrestled the #1 ranked challenger, “the Native Beast” Nyla Rose! “She believes tonight is her night,” Excalibur said of Nyla Rose. RIHO ran into Nyla’s corner, and Nyla swatted her to the mat. RIHO tried for a dropkick, and again, Nyla batted her away. RIHO sprung off the top to the outside, but Nyla caught her with a massive backbreaker. Nyla pulled a table out from beneath the ring. As Nyla was setting it up, RIHO ran right across the table’s surface and stomped on the “Native Beast!” RIHO’s offensive attack was short lived; Nyla gave RIHO a double-axe handle for her troubles, then began to stomp on her. Nyla tried for a choke slam but RIHO escaped with a crucifix bomb! RIHO hit a low dropkick on Nyla, but Nyla kicked out at two! Nyla used a Samoan drop on RIHO for her own two count! Nyla propped RIHO across the middle of the top rope, and then took flight and dropped her knee across RIHO’s back! Somehow RIHO found the intestinal fortitude to lift her shoulder at two! Nyla bit the face of RIHO and then blasted RIHO with an avalanche death valley driver. Again RIHO found the will to kick out! The crowd was chanting RIHO’s name! Nyla tried to get the One-Winged Angel on RIHO, but RIHO fought out of it and nailed two snapdragon suplexes. RIHO used a Northern Lights suplex, but it wasn’t enough to finish Nyla. RIHO hit the foot stomps from the top rope three consecutive times, but Nyla kept kicking out! Nyla ran into RIHO with a spear and then powerbombed her for the victory! And new AEW Women’s World Champion…“the Native Beast” Nyla Rose! Lexi was backstage interviewing Jericho and the Inner Circle. Jericho said he had big news for Moxley next week. “I scoured the globe, Mox, looking for a bounty hunter to tear you apart, limb by limb. If you’re lucky enough to survive Santana tonight, next week Jeff Cobb will give you a tour of the islands! I always thought I’d see you in the Inner Circle, Mox, but next week…I’ll see you in hell!” Brandi Rhodes joined the commentary team to watch the next match, which was Jungle Boy (with Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt) vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman (accompanied by Wardlow)! MJF and Jungle Boy grappled in the center of the ring, exchanging holds and counters. Jungle Boy knocked MJF right off his feet with a swift push. Jungle Boy was lighting up MJF with chops and then an arm drag from off the top! MJF was infuriated, pulling Jungle Boy by the hair to the outside. MJF whipped Jungle Boy into the steel barricade, and then body slammed him to the arena floor! Jungle Boy turned the tide with a back body drop and elbows to MJF! Jungle Boy fired up even more with a lariat, two tope suicidas and then a tope con hilo! Jungle Boy planted MJF for a two count! Jungle Boy tried to deadlift MJF but his injured back gave out on him. In the center of the ring, MJF applied a deep submission on Jungle Boy, but somehow Jungle Boy escaped it! Jungle Boy used a running Liger bomb on MJF for a two count! As the referee was distracted, Wardlow gave MJF his Dynamite Diamond Ring, and MJF caught Jungle Boy with the loaded fist! MJF pinned Jungle Boy after connecting with the Double Cross! Wardlow wanted to continue the beat down on Jungle Boy, but Jurassic Express ran down! Wardlow shot a menacing look to Luchasaurus, as he and MJF stormed to the back. A highlight video aired of “the Bastard” PAC training in Newcastle for his match against Kenny Omega. “You know I’m the best. It haunts you! You have two weeks Kenny and then I get my rubber match. Aren’t you a lucky, lucky bastard?!” It was time for the night’s main event—Jon Moxley (the #1 ranked challenger for the AEW World Championship currently held by Chris Jericho) against the Inner Circle’s Santana (accompanied by Ortiz)! Le Champion Chris Jericho watched from his private skybox in the arena, along with Jake Hager and Sammy G. The entire arena sang along to Fozzy’s “Judas”. “It’s Biblical, J.R. It’s literally an eye for an eye!” said Excalibur. The two men were brawling in the crowd before the bell rang. They slugged it out to the ring, but the action spilled back to the outside as Mox jumped off the top rope to the floor onto Santana! Momentum shifted with Santana landing a running kick to Mox. Ortiz laughed and taunted Mox on the outside, yelling, “We’re the best! We’re the best!” Back in the ring, Santana continued to work over Mox’s blind side. Moxley applied a Fujiwara arm bar onto Santana, and then a release German suplex! Santana rolled through with a cutter and an arrogant pin attempt. Santana then hit a stalling pile driver, but Mox mustered out! “It’s a slobber knocker without a doubt,” said Jim Ross. Santana went for the frog splash but Mox got his knees up! Santana blocked a lariat and returned the favor with a thrust kick to his opponent. Mox connected with a brutal lariat of his own! Moxley headed to the top, but Ortiz, standing on the outside, spit alcohol from his flask into Mox’s good eye. Santana went back up for the frog splash and this time he found it! Mox escaped the pin at two! Moxley dug his thumb into Santana’s bad eye, and then defeated Santana with the Paradigm Shift! Like a pack of rabid dogs, the Inner Circle descended upon Moxley, assaulting him with the mad ball, the heavyweight belt, and low blows. “He’s defenseless! What else can they hit him with here?” asked Tony Schiavone. Chris Jericho smashed Moxley with the Judas Effect elbow! Jericho called to the back. Jeff Cobb came down, answering Jericho’s command, and gave Mox a “Tour of the Islands” onto the mat! Be sure to watch next week live on February 19th, as AEW DYNAMITE will be broadcasting on TNT from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA!
Austin, Texas here we come!!! This Wednesday night, AEW comes to the H.E.B Center for another thrilling edition of “Dynamite” live on TNT! After last week’s painful finale, what is in store for our fans this week as we get closer to the “Revolution” PPV event on February 29th? Two championship matches are on tap with the Women’s and Tag Titles up for grabs, An Eye For An Eye with Moxley and Santana squaring off, the fallout from MJF whipping Cody, and more coming your way! You can be there live by grabbing your tickets at AEWTix.com, or tune to TNT at 8pm EST/7pm CST to catch all the action as it goes down! Ten lashes with a leather belt, and a swift kick to the groin to top it off; that was what Cody had to endure a week ago on “Dynamite” as part of the process to get to “Revolution” and the desired match with MJF. It was a torturous process for, not just the fans of Cody, but also for his friends and family. So difficult was it to watch that Arn Anderson came out to offer moral support, Dustin Rhodes offered to take the lashes in his younger brother’s stead, and The Young Bucks too came out to offer their support for their Elite brethren. Each and every time, after each flesh searing lash, Cody rose to his feet, feeding Max’s growing frustration that he was unable to break his former mentor, that he could not goad Cody into striking him, that even after allowing Wardlow to lay in one of the blows, Cody still found the reserve to stand. But after the ninth time Cody felt the leather across his skin, it seemed he had finally reached his breaking point. As tears welled up in Cody’s eyes, as he struggled to keep a modicum of composure as MJF yelled in his ear to stay down, it felt like Max had maybe prevailed. That is until, to the shock of many, Brandi Rhodes came to ringside, divested of her Nightmare Collective trappings, and encouraged her husband to stand up for what should have been the final blow. Weeks prior Cody had commented that everyone he would generally reach out to to help pull him up was a little preoccupied, but here, at one of the hardest moments of his life, a point in which the decision to “merely” stand-up seemed like the most impossible task in the world, he was surrounded by all the love and support that gave him the strength to stand. That love, that strength, it proved to be more than Max could endure, so he punted Cody right in the groin and headed for the hills before any retaliation from the collected group whose attention was squarely on Cody’s well-being. With the ten lashes knocked off MJF’s list of demands, Cody has two weeks to recover before he must meet Wardlow inside a Steel Cage on February 19th in Atlanta, and he must still find it in himself to not strike Max down where he stands. What shape will Cody be in as AEW rolls into Austin this week? And what further plans can Maxwell Jacob Friedman possibly have between now and the cage match? AN EYE FOR AN EYE… (#1) Jon Moxley vs. Santana Perseverance has proven a hallmark of Jon Moxley, beyond just his career in All Elite Wrestling, it has been a defining trait of his life. In recent weeks, that has been glaringly clear to anyone who chooses to see as Moxley has continued on despite his impaired vision. Since being stabbed in the eye with one of AEW World Champion Chris Jericho’s spikes, Moxley has officially claimed the #1 Contendership to the World Title by defeating PAC on the Jericho Cruise edition of “Dynamite”, and gone head-first into battle against the full Inner Circle with only a baseball bat in tow. Following that, Moxley traveled to Japan to compete, then came back to beat Ortiz in a singles contest, and following that victory, would go all in on the old adage of “an eye for an eye” at the expense of Santana, before hopping back on a plane to compete in Japan once more. Perhaps, it should be mentioned, that Santana suffered his wound via a key to a certain car Moxley acquired recently… But Moxley is not the only persistent one here in this battle. Santana has also lived his life, built his career, on persistence. A persistent desire to become a wrestler, a persistent drive to excel at his chosen profession, a need to become one of the best tag teams across the wrestling landscape with Ortiz, and, as of late, the persistence to thrive despite an extremely difficult 2020 thus far. To say that the actions of Moxley last week did not help these trying times would be a draztic understatement, and to say that “the chickens are coming home to roost” this week in Austin might be insufficient to encapsulate what’s going on with Santana now. This fight with Moxley might be his first one-on-one match since November 2018 (according to Cagematch.net), but it’s not something with which he is unfamiliar. Just because Santana and Ortiz chose to make tag team competition their focus since they united in early 2012, does not mean this man isn’t ready for war on his own, especially after Moxley’s assault in Alabama. Also, let’s be honest, when was the last time any member of The Inner Circle truly had to ride alone? Whether it’s Ortiz, or Jake Hager, or Sammy Guevara, it’s a safe bet that at least one member of Jericho’s crew will be at the side of Santana while Moxley stands alone… AEW WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE MATCH Riho (c) vs. (#1) Nyla Rose Riho has owned Nyla Rose once the bell rings. There truly is no other way to look at it because in the three times they have been opponents (one Triple Threat, one Singles Match, and a Four Way), Riho has been the victor in every single one. The most important of the trio is undoubtedly that Singles Match as that battle was to crown the very first AEW Women’s World Champion. In straight up one-on-one competition, with the most important prize at stake, Riho defeated Nyla Rose and it has eaten her up ever since. The rage that is bursting out of Rose has only built with each passing week, to the point where at the end of 2019 she found herself suspended without pay because of her violent actions. Then, just to send a message, when Rose return to action at the “Homecoming” edition of “Dynamite” as part of the Four Way Women’s Title match, she showed no remorse when decimating Riho with a table following another loss. And as seen in the video above, that rage has not abated, but will finally have an official outlet this Wednesday night when Riho attempts to defend her title for the 5th time in her 130+ day title reign. She has beaten Britt Baker, Emi Sakura, and Kris Statlander in singles matches (the last albeit with some unwanted outside involvement) as well as Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Rose in that aforementioned Four Way contest. Will this week’s episode of “Dynamite” be a repeat of the very first where Riho beat Rose, or will Nyla change her fortunes and channel all that red rage into championship success? AEW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. (#1) SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) Just a few weeks ago, during the Jericho Cruise edition of “Dynamite”, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page managed to knock SCU off the top of the mountain and claim the AEW World Tag Team Titles as their own. It was a victory that shocked many, considering all the strife that existed between Page and his partner, considering how much of an effort it has been for the two men to get on, much less stay on, the same page. In spite of their issues, the two pulled it together to end the 83 day run of Kazarian and Sky, but the cracks quickly showed as Page was more interested in rubbing the victory in The Young Bucks faces, and celebrating with a pint (or ten) of whatever alcoholic beverage was put in front of him. Even two weeks ago, when Page swaggered down to the ring with beer in hand, he made sure the beverage was secure before delivering a Buckshot Lariat to The Blade, and then took it back from Matt Jackson before chugging it down, and wandering back off. It was like Page just wanted to rub it further into his former Elite brothers that they needed him, not the other way around. Yet last week, when the quartet of The Bucks, Omega, and Page faced off with The Butcher & The Blade and The Lucha Bros, it was the decision of Page to not tag in Matt or Nick that ultimately cost them the match. Hangman’s response was once again to sulk off on his own and drown his responsibilities with pints and pitchers in hand. As for Kazarian and Sky, since losing the championship titles, they have picked themselves up, dusted themselves off, and now it is time to try again. They put down Jack Evans and Angelico, defeated Chuck Taylor and Trent, and done so with the spectre of The Dark Order hovering over all their actions. The cult…group…organization…has made it very clear they will hurt those Christopher Daniels cares about, and very clearly that is these two men right here. At the behest of The Exalted One, Evil Uno has directed the fury of Stu Grayson, as well as John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and the other, well, creepers at SCU in recent weeks, but in spite of that SCU has persevered. Will that continue to be the case this week in Austin when the championship titles are on the line? Can SCU become two-time champs so soon after losing them in the first place? Can Page get it together, and realize he is actually part of something special before their title reign becomes an afterthought in the AEW record books? JUNGLE EXPRESS VS. INNER CIRCLE Jungle Boy vs. MJF Aside from a Four Way bout at “Fyter Fest”, and the Casino Battle Royale at “Double or Nothing”, the paths of Jungle Boy and Maxwell Jacob Friedman have not intersected in All Elite Wrestling. Yet when Jungle Boy commented on Twitter (@boy_myth_legend) about how he can’t wait to see Cody get his hands on Max after the ten lashes, MJF took umbrage with the statement and stated “How about you stay out of my business you little s***”. Apparently Max is easily triggered and can’t handle someone else wanting to see him get his comeuppance, and this has led to a back-and-forth across social media over the last several days with each competitor trashing the other. Well, now they will have a chance to settle this online dispute inside the squared circle because, as announced on “The Road To…”, MJF and Jungle Boy will lock horns in Austin for this week’s episode of “Dynamite”! Can Jungle Boy, whose shown he can hang with the World Champion Chris Jericho, knock MJF down a peg or two just a few weeks out from the impending “Revolution” fight with Cody, or will it be Max who puts Jungle Boy in check for his comments? Tune in Wednesday night to find out!! THE REMATCH Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara Ever since The Inner Circle broke his arm as a message to Cody prior to “Full Gear”, Dustin Rhodes has been in pursuit of a measure of vengeance against Chris Jericho’s cohorts. Rhodes got a taste of it when he and The Young Bucks defeated Proud-n-Powerful & Sammy Guevara on the “Dynamite” edition from Champaign, IL but, at the “Homecoming” edition of “Dynamite”, Sammy Guevara evened it up when he picked up the biggest singles victory of his AEW career by beating Dustin live on TNT. Now, as AEW heads into Austin for this week’s “Dynamite”, Dustin Rhodes gets the rematch he’s craved right in hometown. As evidenced by the tweet embedded above, this one is about dismantling The Inner Circle one piece at a time. For Dustin, it starts with Sammy and will likely continue until there is no more Inner Circle infesting the ranks of All Elite Wrestling. Rhodes has a goal, a mission, and like his t-shirt says, Dustin will never give up, and keep stepping until that mission is accomplished. MEET & GREET Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet the athletes of All Elite Wrestling before the event! Space is limited for these Meet & Greet chances, so be sure to line up at the East Main Entrance if you want to take part, and be there early! The path to “Revolution” runs right through Austin this Wednesday night when “Dynamite” goes live on TNT at 8pm EST/7pm CST! Two World championship matches, #AnEyeForAnEye, Cody, MJF, and a whole lot more in store for our fans at the H.E.B Center! Get your tickets now at AEWTix.com!

***CONTAINS SPOILERS*** Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL. Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Jim Ross were the broadcast team for tonight’s event. The #1 contender for Chris Jericho’s AEW World Championship, Jon Moxley, vs. Ortiz (a member of Jericho’s Inner Circle, accompanied by Santana) kicked off the program! Moxley has been #1 in the AEW rankings for nine straight weeks, and tonight he was wrestling with only one good eye. Before the match began the Huntsville crowd was chanting “Moxley! Moxley! Moxley!” Le Champion Chris Jericho walked out with Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara, and they joined the broadcast team for the match. Mox exploded like a Molotov cocktail, stopping a boot from Ortiz and then pummeling him with knees. Ortiz reacted quickly with a DDT and a head butt. He threw Mox into the metal ring steps on the outside of the ring. Jericho said, “This is not some gimmick for Ortiz and Santana. They are literally street thugs from the Bronx.” Ortiz put a camel clutch on Mox and then raked his forearm across Mox’s injured eye. Mox fought out with stiff forearms of his own, but Ortiz blocked it and countered with a power bomb. This time Mox had a counter of his own and applied a figure four-leg lock to Ortiz. Mox tossed Ortiz outside the ring, and then hit a tope suicida onto Santana! “Moxley has an eye behind his head, he’s an animal, but we have a strategy for REVOLUTION!” said Jericho. Ortiz used some tiger claws on Moxley, and then took flight with a splash off the top rope for a near fall. Ortiz then used a fisherman’s suplex on Mox, good for just a two count on Mox. Mox reversed a lariat from Ortiz, and followed up with the Paradigm Shift for the victory! Mox pointed to Jericho but was blindsided by Santana. Mox dished out a Paradigm Shift to Santana for his troubles! Moxley pulled out a pair of car keys and thrust one into Santana’s eye! “An eye for an eye,” said Excalibur. The Inner Circle ran down the ramp to save Santana, while Mox left through the crowd. Santana was in excruciating pain, covering his eye with his hands. “There a fine line between genius and insanity, and right now Moxley is straddling that line,” said Jim Ross. SCU (Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian, without Chris Daniels) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent, along with Orange Cassidy) was up next! Trent and Frankie locked up, with Frankie taking his opponent down with a side headlock. The two exchanged chops to the chest, but Frankie starched Trent with a right hand. Sky was tagged in and was met with a shoulder tackle from Chuckie T., but Sky got big air with a dropkick to “the Kentucky Gentleman.” Sky gave an over-the-top cutter to Chuckie, but Trent hit a spear on Sky! Kazarian grabbed Trent and connected with a wicked German suplex onto the floor. Back in the ring, it was Frankie with the assisted swinging DDT onto Trent. The Best Friends pulled out a “sole food half and half combination” and it was Best Friends back in the driver’s seat! They were looking for Strong Zero, but SCU reversed it with the Yoshi Tonic for the pin fall! The Dark Order stormed the ring, mauling SCU and Best Friends. Orange Cassidy, not threatened by the numbers, entered the ring. Evil Uno offered a mask to Orange, who declined, placing his hands in his pockets. The Dark Order took the boots to Orange Cassidy until Chris Daniels sprinted to the ring. The Dark Order retreated from the ring before Daniels could get his hands on any of them! The next match of the evening was Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D against “the Magical Girl” Yuka Sakazaki, making her DYNAMITE debut! Baker used her height advantage to place an arm bar on Sakazaki, and then whipped her into the corner turnbuckle. Baker used both hands to throttle Yuka Sakazaki around the throat. Sakazaki used leg scissors, and then the Magical Girl Splash to the outside onto Baker! Baker was stunned, and Sakazaki followed up with a clothesline. The two began exchanging strikes, but Baker stopped it with a thrust kick! Baker went for Lock Jaw, but Sakazaki escaped with a rollup for the pin! As Sakazaki was celebrating in the ring, Baker used the steel ring bell and blasted Sakazaki in the back of the head with it. Baker then placed Sakazaki’s mouth on the ring ropes and stomped down on her head. Sakazaki began pleading for help, blood pouring out of her mouth. A frightened Sakazaki looked down, clutching a broken tooth, as blood pooled into her hands. Dr. Britt Baker applied her Lock Jaw on Sakazaki, adding insult to injury! AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega & Adam Page and the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. the Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) and the Butcher & the Blade (with the Bunny) faced off in an 8-man tag bout! “Hangman” Page didn’t wait for the Elite, coming down to the ring without them. Page lit up the Blade with chops and then a big boot. Page tagged in Omega who worked over the Blade with tandem offense. “Good continuity by the champs,” said Jim Ross. The Elite isolated the Blade in the corner, with quick tags in and out. The Bucks and Omega hit a triple dropkick on the Butcher, while Page merely watched from the ring apron. Nick Jackson single-handedly took out both members of the Lucha Bros on the outside of the ring! Nick tagged in Matt who hit locomotion Northern Lights suplexes on Fenix. Omega got the tag, but Fenix jumped off Omega’s shoulders to take down Matt. The Lucha Bros double-teamed Omega, and then tagged in the Butcher, who hammered down on Omega. The Butcher used a backbreaker on Omega, but Omega used a hurracanrana and then got the tag to Page who cleaned house! The crowd was chanting “Cowboy S—t! Cowboy S—t!” Page wiped out all four members of the opposition with a moonsault to the outside! Excalibur noted that it appeared Page tweaked his knee on the landing. Omega dished out snapdragon suplexes to the Blade and Fenix! The Young Bucks connected with assisted Sliced Bread on the Butcher! Page came in with the Buckshot Lariat, and then used a fall away slam on the Butcher. Page was clutching his knee again. The Bucks wanted to tag in, but Page turned away from them. The Lucha Bros hit their finishing combo on “Hangman,” and Pentagon pinned him. “Page refused to tag in,” said Excalibur. “There’s no logic to that. There’s something brewing there and it’s not healthy,” added Jim Ross. The Bucks were frustrated with Page and the loss, and Omega tried to keep the peace. Page left the ring, guzzling a beer from a fan at ringside. Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview Kenny Omega, but backstage, “the Bastard” PAC interrupted. PAC was standing next to RIHO. “This was supposed to be a contract signing, but you left Michael Nakazawa for dead. We’ll see if you care about RIHO,” said PAC. “Stop, stop, stop! You’ve got your match!” screamed Omega. “I hope you didn’t think I’d put my hands on a woman, Kenny. I’m not a beast. But she is!” said PAC, and with that, “the Native Beast” Nyla Rose attacked RIHO from behind, planting her through a table with a power bomb! “Superbad” Kip Sabian (accompanied by Penelope Ford) vs. the “Bad Boy” Joey Janela was up next! It began like a hockey fight, with both men slugging away at one another. Kip kicked Janela square in the face. The “Bad Boy” lit up Sabian’s chest with chops, and then dropped him with a back suplex for a near fall. Sabian and Janela took turns kicking each other in the back, as if they were daring one another, but Sabian called an audible and applied a sleeper on Janela. The “Bad Boy” fought out and connected with a palm strike to Sabian’s throat. Sabian took out Janela with a basement dropkick. On the outside, Penelope Ford slammed Janela’s head into the ring steps. She clawed at his eyes as her boyfriend Kip Sabian kicked Janela. “The story of this match is how Penelope has intervened on behalf of Kip Sabian,” said Excalibur. Janela turned his back for a mere moment and was kicked in the face by Sabian. Janela had Sabian scouted on the next move, though, as he caught Sabian in the air and suplexed him on the outside! Sabian and Janela got in another slugfest, but after a head and shoulder misdirection fake, Sabian DDT’ed Janela. Penelope Ford locked lips with Sabian, and it was enough to distract Janela. Sabian rolled up Janela for the dirty victory! MJF’s music started to play, and out strolled MJF with Wardlow. It was time for Cody’s ten lashes! “The American Nightmare” Cody’s theme song played throughout the arena, and Cody came out to honor the stipulation that he accepted. “A vicious and cruel woodshed awaits…he will keep his word,” said Jim Ross, as Cody took off his jacket and entered the ring. Cody proceeded to loosen his tie, and then removed his tie and shirt. “Hold on, hold on, hold on. I don’t know, this is a really nice belt. Far too nice to touch you!” said MJF, as he pointed down at his leather belt. “I want your belt. Now!” Cody tossed his belt to MJF and turned around, ready to receive his lashes. MJF was all smiles. “It’s old school, man,” commented Jim Ross. The Butcher and the Blade, Kip Sabian, and Sammy G. came out on the top of the ramp to witness the lashing. Cody took two stiff lashes, and then a third, grimacing in pain. The third was enough to cause Cody to lunge forward and grab the ring ropes. Arn Anderson came down to the ring, and MJF said, “You can’t help him now, old man!” The welts began popping up on Cody’s back. The fourth time MJF hit him with the belt caused Cody to drop to his knees, but Cody stood up for another. Cody’s brother, Dustin Rhodes, ran down to the ring. Dustin offered to take the remaining lashes. “Unfortunately this is not how it works,” said MJF. “Get out of my ring and watch with everybody else,” he continued. Two quick ones to the spine, and Cody was back on the mat, clenching his teeth. Now the Young Bucks were out, trying to console their friend. Cody rolled out of the ring, and the Bucks and Dustin Rhodes offered him words of encouragement. “You’re almost there,” said Dustin. Cody was digging deep, gritting his teeth, and he manned up again in the center of the ring. He had three more to go. MJF hit him with the strap again, and Cody fell again. “Stay down!” screamed MJF. Cody gave the middle finger to MJF. This time, Wardlow offered his services, and MJF handed the leather belt to Wardlow. A thunderous crack echoed throughout the arena as Wardlow whipped Cody, who collapsed to his feet, his back bleeding, covered in welts. Brandi Rhodes, Cody’s wife, came down to the ring. “You’ve got one more. You can do this. I love you so much,” she said, as she grabbed his hand through the ring ropes. Cody turned around for number ten and got one right in the chest, but Cody did not quit! MJF finished it off with a low blow to Cody, before he and Wardlow retreated through the crowd!
