A New Case Unfolds in London

Season two of Criminal Record returns to the streets of London with a high-stakes new investigation. When a young man is stabbed to death at a political rally, Detective Sergeant June Lenker and Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty are forced into an uneasy partnership.

What begins as a murder investigation quickly escalates into something far more dangerous, pulling the pair into an undercover operation tied to a far-right bomb plot. The series continues to explore moral ambiguity and the complexities of modern policing, placing its characters in situations where the truth is constantly shifting.

Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo Lead the Charge

Peter Capaldi reprises his role as DCI Daniel Hegarty, alongside Cush Jumbo as DS June Lenker. Their dynamic remains central to the series, with season two deepening the tension and trust between the two characters.

The returning ensemble cast includes Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore, and Charlie Creed-Miles, while new additions include Dustin Demri-Burns, Luca Pasqualino, Luther Ford, Lyndsey Marshal, and Peter Sullivan.

Expanding a Critically Acclaimed Thriller

Created by BAFTA nominee Paul Rutman, Criminal Record has built its reputation on character-driven storytelling layered with social and political themes. The second season continues that approach, blending procedural elements with larger questions about justice and accountability.

Directed by Ben A. Williams and Joelle Mae David, the series is produced by Tod Productions and STV Studios, with executive producers including Elaine Collins, Chris Sussman, Rutman, Capaldi, and Jumbo.

As Apple TV continues to expand its slate of prestige dramas, Criminal Record stands out as a series focused on grounded storytelling and nuanced performances.
