Prime Video has officially renewed “Cross” for a third season, continuing the global success of the hit thriller series starring Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross.

The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes and will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.


A Global Hit Continues

Since its debut, “Cross” has become one of Prime Video’s biggest breakout series.

The first season drew 40 million viewers globally within its first 20 days, ranking as the third most-watched premiere on the platform in 2025 and reaching #1 in more than 100 countries.

The series has also received strong industry recognition, winning Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series at the NAACP Image Awards, with Aldis Hodge earning Best Performance in a Drama Series at the NAMIC Vision Awards.

Based on characters created by James Patterson, “Cross” follows the brilliant detective Alex Cross as he navigates complex cases and personal challenges.

The series is created by Ben Watkins, with Aldis Hodge leading the cast as the iconic character.

Prime Video’s Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, praised Hodge’s performance, noting that his portrayal brings depth, intelligence, and emotional weight to the role.


Season 2 Now Streaming

The renewal comes as Season 2 is currently available to stream in full on Prime Video.

The latest season follows Alex Cross and FBI Agent Kayla Craig as they work to protect a billionaire targeted by a mysterious killer, while uncovering a deeper conspiracy.

Season 2 stars Aldis Hodge alongside Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham, with returning cast members including Isaiah Mustafa and Alona Tal.


Expanding the World of Alex Cross

With Season 3 now confirmed, the series is set to further expand the high-stakes world of Alex Cross, continuing its mix of psychological drama, action, and character-driven storytelling.

The show remains one of Prime Video’s key original series, building momentum as it grows its global audience.
