Shannon Walsh & Alan St-George Interview | Adrianne & The Castle
Director Shannon Walsh and subject Alan St-George sit down for an intimate conversation about Adrianne & The Castle, a visually rich and emotionally profound documentary exploring love, loss, creativity, and legacy. Alan shares the deeply personal story behind Havencrest Castle — an ornate, hand-built monument he created with his late wife Adrianne — and how he has continued shaping it since her passing. Walsh discusses the filmmaking process, the use of musical re-enactments, and the challenge of honoring a story rooted in devotion, grief, and imagination.
Synopsis:
Inventive and whimsical, Adrianne & The Castle tells the true story of Alan St-George, a mascot-maker and artist in rural Illinois who built an elaborate castle with his late wife Adrianne. Since her death in 2006, Alan has continued to finish Havencrest Castle as a living “temple” to their transcendent love. Working closely with Alan, director Shannon Walsh brings this fairytale romance to life through cinematic, musical storytelling that explores grief, devotion, and the pursuit of an authentic life.
Adrianne & The Castle will be available on VOD starting December 5, 2025.
