Laura Chinn, who was previously a young TV actor (GREY’S ANATOMY, HAPPY ENDINGS) , struggled to write the script for months before finishing it in 2020. She wanted to capture “the loss of [her] beloved brother, her own mortality and the ethics of death and dying. Her memoir was published in June of 2022 right before production on the film begun.

Synopsis:
Inspired by the semi-autobiographical story of teenager (Nico Parker) who, while caring for her brother along with her audacious mother (Laura Linney), strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Woody Harrelson) who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.
