Executive Producer Tory Tunnell Interview by Big Gold Belt Media
Tory along side her husband Joby Harold who also serves as an Executive Producer on the series underneath the production of their company Safehouse Pictures.
Safehouse Pictures is the bi-coastal production company run by powerhouse producers Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold.
You may also recognize Harold’s name as he is a screenwriter behind big titles including Obi-Wan Kenobi for Disney+, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Flash, and Army of the Dead among others.
Safehouse Pictures has a hefty list of successful titles thus far and many exciting projects in the pipeline spanning across TV and film.
Their newest series to drop, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, recently premiered on Apple TV+ on November 17 starring Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell with Matt Shakman at the helm.
Founded by Harold and Tunnell in 2005, Safehouse Pictures is continuing to keep busy as they have a deal in television with Legendary TV, and a feature first-look deal with Amazon. Currently they are producing the sci-fi thriller Atlas, starring Jennifer Lopez, Sterling K. Brown and Simu Liu, for Netflix. The company’s past credits include Spinning Out, Underground, My Blind Brother and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
Right now, Safehouse is in post-production on tentpole sci-fi actioner Atlas, starring Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, which Brad Peyton directed for Netflix. The film is about a bleak-sounding future, where an AI soldier has determined that the only way to end war is to end humanity.
Also, they are in active development on a large variety of projects including the World War II action-drama The Liberators with Michael B. Jordan, Battle of Britain for Ridley Scott, and I.F., a live-action hybrid family comedy with Tiffany Haddish attached to star, among many more.
Previously, Safehouse executive produced Spinning Out starring Kaya Scodelario and January Jones for Netflix, the critically acclaimed Underground starring Aldis Hodge and Jurnee Smollett for WGN, My Blind Brother starring Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, and Jenny Slate for Starz and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, and Djimon Hounsou, which Harold also wrote.
Individually, Harold most recently wrote and executive produced Obi-Wan Kenobi for Disney+ starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. He also co-wrote Transformers: Rise of the Beasts directed by Steven Caple Jr. for Paramount, The Flash directed by Andy Muschietti, and Army of the Dead directed by Zack Snyder for Netflix. Harold previously executive produced Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, and John Wick 3 starring Keanu Reeves.

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.
