Ty Hodges began his career as a dancer and actor beginning with Dance Theater of Harlem & Alvin Ailey then with his starring role in Janet Jackson’s 1997 music video “GO DEEP” and continuing on with EVEN STEVENS and several films for Disney and MATERIAL GIRLS w/Hilary Duff.
Ty’s dancer discipline & creativity has supported his career evolving into an independent director starting with his directorial debut MILES FROM HOME, then VIDEO GIRL w/Meagan Good and Ruby Dee, YOU ME & THE CIRCUS, A GIRL LIKE GRACE, CHARLIE TREVOR AND A GIRL SAVANNAH, and BOBBI KRISTINA.
VENUS AS A BOY is Ty’s seventh film
