We speak with Jaime Slater, who stars as Cornelia in STARZ’s upcoming series “Spartacus: House of Ashur.” She discusses stepping into the dynamic power couple of Cornelia and Caesar, how their relationship disrupts the political balance of Rome, and what it was like working under the direction of her real-life husband, Steven S. DeKnight (Showrunner/EP).
About “Spartacus: House of Ashur”
This new chapter in the Spartacus universe imagines an alternate path where Ashur survives and is rewarded by Rome with control of the gladiator school that once owned him. But ruling a ludus is nothing compared to navigating the violent, treacherous world of Roman politics — where betrayal is not a sin, but currency.
The series introduces new power players, including Cornelia and her husband Caesar, whose influence and ambition shake the foundations of Rome’s elite. Their presence creates tension, realignment, and political danger in every room they enter.
