If there is one guy in the DC Universe you don’t want to owe a favor to—or be in the crosshairs of—it’s Floyd Lawton. This August, the world’s most dangerous marksman is taking center stage to kick off something huge.
Today, DC Comics announced “Next Level: One Shot #1,” a beefy 48-page special ($5.99) hitting shelves on August 19, 2026. Written by Gerry Duggan (“Batman,” “Deadpool”) with gritty visuals by Fernando Blanco (“Catwoman”), DC’s deadliest assassin is back and apparently gets wrapped up in something big that will impact the DC universe as we know it.
What’s “One Shot” About?
We’ve all seen Deadshot take on impossible contracts, but this time, things get personal. Here’s the lowdown:
- The Job: A simple mission goes completely sideways (as they always do).
- The Stakes: It’s a story about a father and his daughter caught in a web of “super-powered lies.”
- The Big Picture: Deadshot uncovers a conspiracy that stretches across the entire DC roster and hints at a massive war on the horizon.
Essentially, if you want to know where the DC Universe is headed in late 2026, this is the book you need to grab.

The Deadshot’s in the Details
DC does variant covers like nobody else and this book is no different. Variant covers are by Mark Spears, Jorge Corona, and Carmine Di Giandomenico, with a 1:25 variant cover by Mario Foccillo and a foil variant by Mark Spears.
