Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are officially bringing one of the biggest horror films of the last year into Halloween Horror Nights, with Warner Bros. Pictures’ Sinners set to headline brand-new haunted houses beginning later this summer.

Following its massive global success and critical acclaim, Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror phenomenon will now become a fully immersive Halloween Horror Nights experience on both coasts. The haunted houses debut Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Since releasing in 2025, Sinners became a cultural force inside the horror genre. The film grossed more than $370 million worldwide while also becoming the highest-grossing original horror film in history. The critically acclaimed supernatural thriller earned 16 Academy Award nominations and ultimately won four Oscars, cementing its place as one of the genre’s most celebrated modern releases.

Written, directed, and produced by Ryan Coogler alongside producers Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian for Proximity Media, Sinners transported audiences to the 1930s Mississippi Delta, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack returned home hoping to open a juke joint for their community. But the celebration quickly descended into chaos when vampires invaded opening night, triggering a brutal fight for survival.

Now, Halloween Horror Nights guests will step directly inside that nightmare.

According to Universal, the haunted house experience will transport guests into Club Juke itself, where the atmosphere quickly turns deadly as terrifying vampires Remmick, Bert, and Joan emerge from the shadows hunting victims throughout the night. Fans will also encounter characters pulled directly from the film including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, and Cornbread as they navigate the chaos unfolding between Smoke, Stack, and the bloodthirsty creatures stalking the club.

And honestly, this feels like one of the most natural fits Halloween Horror Nights has had in years. <!– HOUSE CONCEPT ART HERE –>

The world of Sinners already carried an intensely immersive atmosphere on screen through its music, Southern gothic imagery, practical horror elements, and emotional tension. Translating that environment into a physical walkthrough experience feels perfectly aligned with what Horror Nights does best.

“It’s been incredible to see audiences connect with Sinners in such a powerful way,” Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian said in a joint statement. “Now, partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film — to feel the music, the atmosphere and the tension all around them.”

Universal’s creative teams are also teasing that this house will push the boundaries of what guests typically expect from Halloween Horror Nights experiences.

“At Halloween Horror Nights, we push the boundaries of what a live horror experience can be,” said John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. “Just as Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award winning film, Sinners re-invented the vampire movie, we are re-inventing the haunted house and creating new ways to scare our guests that we’ve never attempted.”

Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort, echoed similar excitement surrounding the project.

“The moment Sinners premiered, we knew it was an undeniable fit for Halloween Horror Nights,” Aiello said. “Its world, characters and intensity will translate into a relentless haunted house.”

Universal also confirmed that new Sinners-inspired merchandise is already available at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, and online through shopUniversal.com. Current merchandise includes a limited-release t-shirt, hat, and collectible acrylic figure tied directly to the haunted house experience.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 is shaping up to be one of the event’s biggest years yet.

Universal Studios Hollywood’s event will run for a record 42 nights and feature eight haunted houses, Terror Tram, scare zones, and access to the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster for select ticket packages. Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort celebrates the 35th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights with 48 select event nights, 10 all-new haunted houses, live entertainment, scare zones, and exclusive vacation packages.

With Sinners now officially entering the lineup, Universal may have secured one of the strongest modern horror properties imaginable for this year’s event.

Because if the film proved anything, it’s that audiences are more than ready to step back inside Club Juke — even if surviving the night is another story entirely.
