Behaviour Interactive is letting the Dead by Daylight community step directly into The Fog with one of the game’s most unique Chapters yet.

Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin launches today through the Steam Public Test Build, introducing the game’s first-ever community-created Chapter. Built through more than a year and a half of community votes, developer updates, and fan input, the new Chapter brings an otherworldly Killer, The Judgment, and a post-apocalyptic Survivor, Aurora Stardotter, into The Entity’s Realm.

The full Chapter officially releases on August 25.

A Chapter Forged by the Dead by Daylight Community

Chorus of Sin stands apart because the community helped shape the Chapter from the ground up.

Through a series of votes, blog posts, and community streams, players helped determine key creative elements of the new original Chapter. Fans chose a divine, otherworldly Killer, which marks a first for Dead by Daylight’s roster, and a Survivor who comes from a world destroyed by that same terrifying force.

The result is a Chapter that feels both strange and fitting for the next decade of The Fog. Dead by Daylight has always thrived on tension, horror archetypes, and memorable character concepts, but Chorus of Sin adds something different by giving players a direct role in bringing its nightmare to life.

The Judgment Brings Divine Horror to The Fog

The new Killer, The Judgment, arrives with a powerful divine theme and a visually distinct presence.

Her power, Divine Light, allows her to summon a pillar of divine light that injures Survivors and marks them with Heresy. When a marked Survivor is downed, they may be sent into Exile, a realm of eternal punishment where they must avoid hazards or risk speeding up their own demise.

That mechanic gives The Judgment a strong identity built around punishment, pressure, and control. Instead of simply hunting Survivors across the map, she forces them into a terrifying secondary layer of danger where mistakes can become even more costly.

The Judgment’s Perks

The Judgment comes with three character-specific Perks.

Celestial Witness briefly reveals the aura of the Killer’s Obsession when they are a great distance away.

Hex: Under Your Thumb ignites a Dull Totem that limits Survivors’ Haste after the first time they gain a Hook State.

Lay Waste increases Generator regression after the Killer damages a Generator, with stronger regression depending on how far the Generator has been repaired.

Together, these Perks reinforce The Judgment’s theme of control, pressure, and punishment. She is built to make Survivors feel watched, slowed, and vulnerable as the trial continues.

Aurora Stardotter Fights Back Against the Divine

The new Survivor, Aurora Stardotter, brings a post-apocalyptic edge to the Chapter.

Described as a spiritual scientist from a world destroyed by The Judgment, Aurora enters The Fog carrying the weight of survival, loss, and resistance. Her lore directly connects her to the Killer, giving the Chapter a stronger narrative hook than a simple new character drop.

Aurora’s Perks are designed around helping teammates, surviving chase situations, and supporting Generator progress. That makes her a strong fit for players who like cooperative Survivor play and utility-focused builds.

Aurora Stardotter’s Perks

Aurora Stardotter also arrives with three character-specific Perks.

Fruits of Your Labor allows Aurora to stack tokens as she completes Generators. After finishing repairs, she gains Haste and increased healing progress based on the number of tokens she has.

Salvation’s Cry briefly reveals Aurora’s aura to fellow Survivors while she is being chased by the Killer. In return, her teammates’ auras become visible to her.

Boon: Steadfast creates a Boon Totem that causes nearby Generators to regress more slowly and be repaired faster.

Those abilities make Aurora feel like a Survivor built for team awareness and late-match resilience, giving players tools to support each other while staying one step ahead of the Killer.

A Strong New Direction for The Fog

The most exciting part of Chorus of Sin is how different it feels from a standard Chapter reveal.

The divine horror angle gives Dead by Daylight a fresh visual and thematic lane, while the community-created process gives fans a deeper connection to the final result. The Judgment and Aurora Stardotter feel linked by more than gameplay. They feel like two sides of the same broken world, one bringing destruction and the other trying to survive what was left behind.

For a game that has continued to expand through original characters and major horror collaborations, Chorus of Sin feels like a meaningful experiment. It shows how Dead by Daylight can keep evolving while still listening to the players who have kept The Fog alive for nearly a decade.

Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin is available now through the Steam Public Test Build and officially releases on August 25.
