Art the Clown has found another place to make a mess.

The modern horror icon from the Terrifier franchise is officially joining Dead by Daylight as a new Killer, while Sienna Shaw enters The Fog as the game’s newest Survivor.

Players can get their first hands on experience with both characters now through the Steam Public Test Build, ahead of the full Dead by Daylight: Terrifier Chapter launching across available platforms on November 24, 2026.

The collaboration brings one of horror’s fastest rising slasher franchises into a game already packed with genre legends, but Art is not arriving as a simple character skin. Behaviour Interactive has built his gameplay around the same mixture of brutality, unpredictability and dark comedy that helped turn him into a modern horror icon.

And yes, the trash bag is coming with him.

Art the Clown Brings a Bag Full of Problems

Art enters Dead by Daylight as The Terrifier, armed with a Power appropriately called Bag of Toys.

Rather than relying on a single signature weapon, Art reaches into his infamous trash bag and randomly pulls from a collection of tools that includes a flail, flamethrower, firearm, acid filled beer bottle and even his little bike horn.

Successful attacks make those weapons increasingly dangerous, eventually allowing Art to knock down injured Survivors and execute them.

Each weapon also comes with its own Mini Mori, giving players different ways to see Art’s particular brand of over the top violence play out.

It is a smart fit for the character.

Art has never been defined by one weapon in the way some classic slashers are. Part of his appeal is watching him discover increasingly absurd and horrible ways to hurt people, usually while treating the entire thing like a private comedy routine.

Dead by Daylight appears to be leaning directly into that unpredictability.

Art’s Perks Turn the Trial Into His Own Show

Art also arrives with three character specific Perks: Funny Business, Kill Spree and Laughingstock.

Funny Business activates when Art damages a Generator, granting a temporary speed boost along with a random additional effect. Those effects can range from blocking Generators to something considerably less threatening, like a burst of confetti.

That randomness feels particularly appropriate for a Killer whose humor often sits right beside the violence.

Kill Spree raises the stakes late in a Trial. Once all Generators are completed and every remaining Survivor has reached two Hook States, Art gains the ability to kill them.

Laughingstock targets Survivors near completed Generators, inflicting both Exhausted and Oblivious.

Together, the Perks encourage an aggressive style that becomes increasingly dangerous as the Trial progresses.

Behaviour is also giving Art something no previous Killer has received: emotes.

His exaggerated facial reactions and physical comedy are a major part of what makes the character recognizable even without dialogue, so players will actually be able to point, laugh and menace Survivors directly.

For a character who communicates almost entirely through body language, it is one of those additions that feels obvious once you hear it.

Sienna Shaw Follows Art Into The Fog

Of course, Art would not feel complete without someone willing to fight back.

Sienna Shaw joins the roster as the Chapter’s Survivor, bringing the resourcefulness and determination that made her the central hero of the Terrifier films into The Entity’s Trials.

Her three Perks are Best Gift Ever, Shared Trauma and Valkyrie’s Rage.

Best Gift Ever allows Sienna to drop items in exchange for powerful passive abilities.

Shared Trauma activates after taking a protection hit, allowing Survivors within 12 meters to recover from Exhausted while running.

Valkyrie’s Rage rewards surviving a Killer chase by giving Sienna access to a stronger pallet stun, creating an opportunity to turn a defensive moment into retaliation.

The abilities fit a character whose entire relationship with Art is built around surviving things that should have killed her and finding a way to keep fighting anyway.

Bringing Art and Sienna into the game together also gives the collaboration more weight than introducing the Killer alone. Their ongoing conflict is central to Terrifier, and now The Entity gets to trap both sides of it inside an endless cycle of pursuit.

Dead by Daylight Finally Goes to the Mall

The Chapter is not the only major addition.

Arriving alongside the Terrifier update is The Hartshorne Mall, a new original Map created in response to one of the community’s longest running requests.

The setting takes a once familiar shopping mall and transforms it into the kind of empty, unsettling liminal environment where ordinary spaces suddenly feel wrong.

Dark storefronts and deserted hallways replace the comfort of a normal shopping trip, allowing The Entity to turn nostalgia into something considerably more sinister.

There is also a deeper connection to existing Dead by Daylight lore.

Players who explore carefully may discover references to Dwight Fairfield, whose childhood history includes a traumatic encounter with The Entity after becoming lost inside a mall.

That gives the location more purpose than simply providing a new backdrop for chases.

For a game built around transforming familiar spaces into nightmare environments, an abandoned mall feels almost overdue.

Terrifier Represents a New Generation of Horror

Dead by Daylight has spent years assembling what amounts to an interactive horror hall of fame.

Its roster has included characters connected to some of the genre’s most recognizable franchises, especially slashers that shaped horror throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Art represents something different.

He is part of the generation that came afterward.

What began as an independent horror creation has grown into a franchise with three feature films released and a fourth on the way. Art’s silent comedy, black and white appearance and increasingly outrageous kills have helped move him from cult favorite to one of contemporary horror’s most recognizable faces.

His arrival in Dead by Daylight feels like another sign of that transition.

The game is no longer only preserving established horror history. It is increasingly making space for the characters defining horror right now.

And few modern slashers arrive with as much personality, blood or baggage as Art the Clown.

Dead by Daylight: Terrifier is available now through the Steam Public Test Build and officially launches across available platforms on November 24, 2026.

More information about the game is available through the official Dead by Daylight website.
