Black Cat Joins the Roster as a Duelist

Felicia Hardy, better known as Black Cat, officially joins Marvel Rivals as a Duelist. Built around speed, mobility, and opportunistic attacks, Black Cat is designed to strike quickly, disrupt defenses, and escape before opponents can respond.
Her toolkit includes wall-climbing, double-jumps, grappling movement, and enhanced claw strikes. She can also steal enemy “Fortune,” using it to power up her own combat abilities. Her Ultimate Ability allows her to mark enemies before instantly dashing to deliver lethal damage.
For players who enjoy aggressive flanking characters with high mobility, Black Cat looks positioned to become an instant favorite.
Blood Hunt Brings New PvE Content
Launching with the April 23 update, Blood Hunt introduces a dedicated PvE experience with a new story-driven mode. The update adds four new boss battles, a hero progression and trait system, plus a new loot structure designed to deepen long-term replayability.
The addition of PvE content is a notable shift for Marvel Rivals, expanding the game beyond standard PvP matches and giving players another way to engage with the roster and universe.
New Team-Up: Lucky Loan
Season 7.5 also introduces a new Team-Up ability called Lucky Loan, featuring Black Cat, White Fox, and Captain America.
Black Cat acts as the anchor, sharing her luck-based powers with teammates. White Fox gains enhanced healing and offensive spectral tail attacks, while Captain America’s shield gets expanded defensive range and improved projectile redirection.
These crossover abilities continue to be one of Marvel Rivals’ strongest gameplay differentiators, encouraging strategic team composition built around character chemistry.
Hellfire Gala Returns
Following the April 23 update, the Hellfire Gala event returns with themed cosmetics for Magik, Gambit, Moon Knight, Emma Frost, and Phoenix. Players will also receive the Emma Frost – Gala Star costume for free after it won the 2025 community vote.
A new community vote will determine next year’s featured free Gala skin, reinforcing the game’s strong player-engagement model.
Path to Doomsday Begins April 30
The April 30 update launches Phase 1 of the Path to Doomsday event. A new mode titled The Avengers Mode allows players to experience asymmetrical combat centered around Loki, while Times Square becomes home to additional in-game activities.
Quality of Life Improvements
PC players will also benefit from better storage management, as the High-Resolution Texture Pack has been separated into optional downloadable content. Users can now remove it separately and free up approximately 35GB of space if needed.
Why This Update Matters
Season 7.5 shows Marvel Rivals expanding beyond a traditional hero shooter. With PvE content, live events, deeper progression systems, and high-demand character additions like Black Cat, the game continues building a long-term ecosystem rather than relying solely on roster drops.
For Marvel fans, it’s another example of how the brand can thrive in interactive spaces when character identity and gameplay design work together.
