The countdown is almost over for one of the most anticipated trading card game collaborations ever announced. Wizards of the Coast has revealed its preview plans for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, giving fans their first look at when and where they can expect card reveals ahead of the set’s global launch later this month.

The highly anticipated crossover between Magic: The Gathering and Marvel Comics officially begins its preview season on June 2, 2026, with a special debut presentation broadcast on the official Magic: The Gathering YouTube and Twitch channels. The showcase will be followed by a special WeeklyMTG aftershow featuring additional discussion about the set and its iconic Marvel characters.

For years, fans have imagined what Marvel’s legendary heroes and villains might look like as Magic cards. That vision is finally becoming reality as players prepare to build decks featuring some of the most recognizable characters in comic book history.

Preview Season Kicks Off June 2

Following the official debut presentation, Wizards of the Coast will launch a full week of card previews across content creators, gaming outlets, and Magic community partners.

The main set card reveals will continue through June 8, giving players an early look at the heroes, villains, spells, and mechanics that will define the release. Once the main set previews conclude, attention will shift toward Commander fans as additional Commander-focused reveals take place from June 8 through June 11.

Wizards also confirmed that the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Card Image Gallery will be updated daily throughout preview season, with the complete gallery becoming available on June 12.

Summer Game Fest Attendees Get Early Access

Fans attending Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles will have an opportunity to experience the crossover firsthand.

Wizards of the Coast announced that attendees will be able to participate in a special Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes play event, allowing players to test cards from the upcoming set before its official release.

The event represents one of the first opportunities for fans to experience the Marvel-themed gameplay in person and gives Summer Game Fest attendees an exclusive early look at the set in action.

A Landmark Marvel Collaboration

The Marvel partnership marks another major step in Magic’s ongoing Universes Beyond initiative, which continues bringing beloved franchises into the world’s most popular trading card game.

While Wizards has remained relatively secretive about specific cards and mechanics, anticipation surrounding the release has remained extremely high since the collaboration was first announced. Marvel’s expansive roster of heroes, villains, teams, and storylines provides one of the richest source materials ever adapted into Magic.

Fans can expect beloved Marvel characters to receive cards that reflect their powers, personalities, and decades of comic book history while still fitting within Magic’s strategic gameplay framework.

Release Date and Preorders

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes launches globally for tabletop play on June 26, 2026.

Preorders are currently available through local game stores, major online retailers, and participating hobby shops worldwide.

With previews beginning June 2, fans won’t have to wait much longer to discover which Marvel heroes and villains will make their way into Magic’s latest blockbuster release.
