Wizards of the Coast is bringing one of the world’s most recognizable virtual performers to the Commander table.
Magic: The Gathering has announced Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku, a new ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck celebrating the global virtual singer through new artwork, lifegain-focused gameplay, and the energy of a full-scale pop performance. The deck will be available exclusively through the Secret Lair storefront beginning August 10 at 9 a.m. PT for $149.99.
This release also marks a major first for Magic. Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku is the first Universes Beyond Secret Lair Commander Deck, combining the collector-focused style of Secret Lair with one of music and internet culture’s most beloved global icons.
Hatsune Miku Takes the Commander Stage
Designed by Magic: The Gathering’s Carmen Klomparens, the deck is headlined by Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice as Miku, Song of the People.
The concept is a smart fit. Miku’s identity has always been built around collaboration, creativity, community, and performance, which translates naturally into a green-white Commander deck built around flooding the board with creatures, gaining life, and turning that momentum into a massive win condition.
Rather than simply placing Miku artwork on a collection of cards, this deck is being presented as a full performance experience. Cards like Archangel of Thune, Aetherflux Reservoir, Crested Sunmare, Rhys the Redeemed, Voice of the Blessed, and Mirari’s Wake help players build a wide board, gain life in large bursts, and transform that life total into pressure.
That gives the deck a clear gameplay identity. Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku features 13 cards with new art by Japanese artists, including a special illustration by KEI, Hatsune Miku’s first software packaging illustrator, for Miku, Song of the People.
Additional artists include fan-favorite creators such as 八三/HASSAN and さいとうなおき/NAOKI SAITO, helping bring Miku’s bright visual identity into Magic’s fantasy framework.
The deck also includes foil borderless basic lands with new artwork, including Plains and Forests, making the mana base part of the visual celebration. That matters for Secret Lair collectors, because the appeal is not only in playability. It is also in presentation, shelf value, and the feeling that the full deck belongs to a specific creative world.
What Comes in the Deck
The release includes a ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck with 12 foil borderless cards featuring new artwork, 7 foil borderless basic Plains, 7 foil borderless basic Forests, 74 non-foil reprints, 10 non-foil double-sided tokens, and a deck box.
The deck also includes a Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice display commander as Miku, Song of the People, which is not legal in sanctioned play.
That package gives players a complete Commander experience out of the box while also offering enough collector appeal for Hatsune Miku fans, Secret Lair buyers, and Universes Beyond collectors.
A 24-Hour Order Window for Fans
For this release, Secret Lair is introducing a 24-hour order window to help more fans secure the deck.
Orders placed between Monday, August 10, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT and Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 8:59 a.m. PT will be fulfilled. A limited quantity will be available to ship right away, while additional orders placed during the window are expected to ship in May 2027 in North America and June 2027 in the EU and UK.
That structure is important because Secret Lair drops often move fast, especially when they involve major crossover releases. Giving fans a defined order window should help reduce some of the pressure while still keeping the release highly collectible.
