Magnolia Home Entertainment’s offbeat comedy adventure The Napa Boys is officially available now on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital platforms following its home entertainment release on May 19, 2026.
Described as Wet Hot American Summer meets Sideways, the film leans fully into chaotic road-trip comedy and absurdist humor as a group of friends travels through California wine country under the guidance of a mysterious figure known only as “The Sommelier.”
The film comes from co-writers Armen Weitzman and Nick Corirossi, with Corirossi also directing the feature. Both filmmakers have built reputations around eccentric comedy projects and sketch-driven humor, and The Napa Boys appears to embrace that same unpredictable energy with a large ensemble cast and intentionally outrageous tone.
One of the film’s biggest selling points is easily its stacked cast lineup.
The ensemble includes Sarah Ramos (The Bear), Mike Mitchell (Twisted Metal), Chloe Cherry (Euphoria), Vanessa Chester (The Lost World: Jurassic Park), Paul Rust (Saturday Night), Jamar Neighbors (Keanu), David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer), Ray Wise (Twin Peaks), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out), Natasha Leggero (Another Period), Ivy Wolk (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), and Beth Dover (Orange Is The New Black), among numerous others.
That blend of alternative comedy veterans, cult-favorite performers, and younger genre talent gives the project a very specific comedic identity that feels intentionally weird in the best possible way.
And honestly, that seems to be exactly the point.
Rather than positioning itself as a traditional studio comedy, The Napa Boys appears built for audiences who enjoy chaotic ensemble humor, awkward character dynamics, and bizarre road-trip energy mixed with wine-country satire.
The official synopsis reads:
“The latest installment of The Napa Boys franchise is Wet Hot American Summer meets Sideways as a mysterious individual known as ‘The Sommelier’ leads a group of friends on a raucous road trip through wine country.”
While indie comedy has increasingly struggled theatrically in recent years, projects like The Napa Boys continue finding life through digital and home entertainment audiences looking for more experimental or unconventional comedy voices outside mainstream studio formulas.
The film’s release through Magnolia Home Entertainment also places it within a distributor long associated with genre-driven independent films, cult discoveries, documentaries, and festival favorites.
With its combination of absurdist humor, ensemble comedy talent, and wine-country chaos, The Napa Boys may end up becoming one of those quirky cult-comedy discoveries audiences stumble into long after release.
The Napa Boys is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital platforms.
