Lionsgate has released the final trailer for Mutiny, the upcoming action thriller starring Jason Statham, and the rollout came with a countdown worthy of the film’s high-stakes premise.
Ahead of the trailer debut, shipping containers were placed simultaneously in Los Angeles, New Jersey, and Chicago, each featuring a 48-hour countdown clock. When the clock hit zero, Lionsgate revealed the final look at Statham’s latest action vehicle, setting the stage for the film’s theatrical release on August 21.
The first trailer for Mutiny featured KRS-One’s “Step Into a World,” while the final trailer adds another layer of intrigue with the voice of a famous icon featured in the new footage.
Jason Statham Takes the Fight to Sea

In Mutiny, Statham plays Cole Reed, a man who witnesses the murder of his billionaire boss and is framed for the crime. With the world turning against him, Reed boards a cargo ship and launches a one-man mission to avenge his boss’ death.
What begins as a fight for survival quickly expands into something much larger, as Reed uncovers an international conspiracy hiding beneath the surface.

For fans of Statham’s signature brand of action, Mutiny looks built around exactly what audiences expect from one of the genre’s most reliable stars: close-quarters combat, relentless pacing, high-impact set pieces, and a lead character who refuses to go down quietly.
A Countdown Built for an Action Thriller
The shipping container countdown activation helped give the final trailer reveal a larger sense of mystery and momentum. Placing containers in multiple major markets tied directly into the film’s cargo ship setting while creating a real-world countdown for fans and press ahead of the trailer launch.
It was a smart piece of event-style marketing for a film centered on conspiracy, pursuit, and survival. Before audiences even see Cole Reed take the fight onto the water, Lionsgate has already framed Mutiny as a movie built around secrets waiting to be unlocked.
Jean-François Richet Directs the Action

Mutiny is directed by Jean-François Richet, with a cast that includes Jason Statham, Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester. The film is written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis, with Marc Butan and Jason Statham producing.
Lionsgate presents the film in association with MadRiver Pictures and Punch Palace.
Rated R for strong and bloody violence and language, Mutiny has a runtime of 95 minutes and arrives only in theaters on August 21.
