Lionsgate Limited is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sing Street with a new physical media release that gives John Carney’s beloved coming-of-age musical comedy the collector’s treatment.
For the first time, Sing Street will be available on 4K, arriving as a 4K + Blu-ray + Digital Collector’s Set and a VHS release on August 11, exclusively through Lionsgate Limited.
Directed by John Carney, the filmmaker behind Once and Power Ballad, Sing Street remains one of the most charming modern music-driven coming-of-age stories. Set in 1980s Dublin, the film follows 14-year-old Conor, played by Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, as he escapes family tension and the pressures of a difficult school environment by forming a band.
His motivation begins with a crush on aspiring model Raphina, played by Lucy Boynton, but the journey quickly becomes about something bigger. Through music videos, original songs, friendship, and self-expression, Conor discovers how creativity can become a lifeline.
A Coming-of-Age Story That Still Plays Like a Hit Single
Part of what makes Sing Street endure is how honestly it captures the relationship between youth and imagination. The film is about first love, but it is also about reinvention. Conor does not simply start a band because he wants to impress someone. He starts a band because music gives him a way to become the person he has not yet figured out how to be.
That emotional core is why the movie still connects 10 years later. Its 1980s setting gives the film style, color, and energy, but the story itself feels timeless. Every generation understands the need to escape into music, art, fashion, friendship, or fantasy when the real world feels too heavy.
With this new collector’s release, Lionsgate Limited is giving fans a chance to revisit that feeling with a premium physical edition built for longtime admirers and new collectors alike.
Available on 4K for the First Time

The Sing Street 10th anniversary release marks the film’s first time on 4K, presented in Dolby Vision with English Dolby Atmos audio.
The release will be available as a 4K + Blu-ray + Digital Collector’s Set, along with a separate VHS release, both arriving on August 11. The release also features artwork by Courtney Autumn Martin, adding a new visual identity to the anniversary edition.

For physical media fans, this is exactly the kind of release that makes boutique collector lines exciting. Sing Street is not just getting another standard reissue. It is being positioned as a film worth preserving, revisiting, and displaying.
New and Legacy Bonus Features
The 4K + Blu-ray + Digital release includes a new Lionsgate Limited extra titled The Risk of Rock & Roll: Going Back to Sing Street, giving fans a fresh look back at the film’s legacy.
The release also includes legacy bonus features such as Making Sing Street, a conversation between writer-director John Carney and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, cast auditions, the theatrical trailer, TV spots, B-roll, and the “Drive It Like You Stole It” music video.
That bonus lineup makes this release especially appealing for fans who love the film’s music, creative process, and behind-the-scenes history.
A Cast That Helped Bring the Music to Life
The film stars Lucy Boynton, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Jack Reynor, Kelly Thornton, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, and Aidan Gillen.
Carney wrote the film from a story by John Carney and Simon Carmody, with producers Anthony Bregman, Martina Niland, and John Carney. The film was originally released in 2016 and runs 105 minutes.
