A Dose Of Colemanism: The Naked Truth

Normally I start off these doses with a story, then an explanation. I want to do things differently this time. This particular story has been very impactful for me, and I believe it will be for you as well. However, to ensure personal reflection, I want to leave this one open-ended so that you can make your own interpretation.

Lie called Truth one day and said, “Let’s meet up and talk.” Truth agreed and met with Lie the next morning. Truth asked Lie what he had in mind after he arrived. Lie said it was a good day to go to the lake and they can talk about things there.

They arrived at the lake, and Lie said they should go for a swim. Truth agreed, but before they got in the water, Lie said, “We have all day. Let’s take our clothes off and swim out as far and deep as we can.” Truth reluctantly agreed and they both jumped into the water.

About midway out, Lie quickly turned around, swam back to the shore and put on Truth’s clothes. Lie immediately headed back into town. He started running through town and everybody started waving and speaking to him: “Hey Truth, good to see you!” Lie responded kindly, the same way Truth always does.

Suddenly, Truth looked around for Lie in the lake and realized what happened. When Truth got back to the shore, it was evident that Lie had stolen his clothes.

Meanwhile, Lie was in town waving at people as he ran through the town. A townsman yelled, “Hey y’all, there goes Truth!”

Then another townsman yelled, “Yeah, but there’s the naked Truth and he looks mad!”

The people turned their heads. …

What’s your naked truth?

Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
