Last month, AAA announced a partnership with Marvel to debut new characters based on Marvel heroes and villains at AAA’s TripleMania event. Now AAA has officially announced the date for their annual flagship show.
AAA’s TripleMania XXVIII will take place on December 26th in a closed venue, according to a report by Eric Mutter from Lucha Central.
When AAA held a press conference for the event in October, CEO Dorian Roldan said the company was hoping to have fans at the venue, Arena Ciudad de Mexico, pending health conditions. On their COVID-19 health chart, Mexico is still in code orange and would have to drop to yellow before fans could be allowed in the venue in any capacity.
The show has matches planned already. Kenny Omega will defend the AAA Mega Championship against Laredo Kid, Chessman will meet Pagano in a hair vs. hair match, and the Marvel characters will debut with Aracno & Leyenda Americana meeting Terror Pupura & Venenoide. Lucha Central is also reporting Taya Valkyrie will meet Lady Shani for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship held by Taya.
