,After the two week “FYTER FEST” extravaganza, All Elite Wrestling comes back with our second annual “FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN” event! Last year it was presented on BRLive.com, but this year it comes to you Wednesday night at 8pm EST/7pm CST LIVE on TNT, and on AEWPlus.com for our International audience!

,This week we’ve got the highly-anticipated AEW World Title fight between AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and the FTW Champion Brian Cage, a first-time ever match-up in the tag division with FTR and The Lucha Bros, The Elite reuniting to battle The Jurassic Express in six man action, and more!

,And, as with last year’s event, this one is also serving as a fundraiser for a great cause, in this case, Florida’s First Coast Relief Fund and Feeding Northeast Florida. More information can be found here (

,,AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

,,Jon Moxley (c) vs. FTW Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage (w/ Taz)

https://www.youtube.com/embed/r_mhoIbUxHk

,Originally set for “FYTER FEST: NIGHT 2”, circumstances of health and all involved taking necessary precautions, forced the match to be moved to this week. Taz would want everyone to believe the narrative that Moxley was scared of facing Cage and merely stalling for time, but this is certainly one instance where the truth is absent from Taz’s story.

,Where the truth is readily evident though, comes in the words that “The Human Suplex Machine” uses to communicate to the world what they need to know about “The Machine” Brian Cage, the man Taz decorated with the iconic FTW Title. The history of that title is readily available with an internet search, suffice to say it is a championship Taz created, that only one other man held because Taz allowed him too, and no one has held since 1999. It holds a special meaning to Taz, to many fans worldwide, and he would not bequeath it to anyone less than someone he believes is the ultimate badass, a renegade, as Taz stated in the that clip above.

,And that is part of what Cage has shown the world since he shocked the world with his arrival at “DOUBLE OR NOTHING”, claiming this World Title opportunity by winning the Casino Ladder Match, and decimating everything placed in his path since that day. Whether it be on “DYNAMITE” or on “DARK”, be it a random victim or an ally of Mox’s like Robert Anthony, anyone who has stood opposite “The Machine” has felt the pain. Moxley himself has even felt it via impact with an automobile, an act the champion has said he would actually appreciate if it wasn’t his title in the middle of the situation.

,And that’s where we are coming into “FFTF” on Wednesday night, the AEW World Title in the middle of a fight between two very tough men. Cage will be coming off a FTW Title defense on “AEW DARK” this Tuesday night while Moxley will be coming off several weeks of inactivity. The time has allowed him to recover from Cage’s parking lot assault, and further fired up the champion as Mox comes into his first defense since the “DOUBLE OR NOTHING” victory over Mr. Brodie Lee. And while The Exalted One of The Dark Order is certainly a monster inside that ring, Brian Cage is an animal of a different sort given his superhuman strength and freakish power.

,And while Mox has been in the ring with athletes from around the world, legends and hall of famers alike, while has fought the most respected of foes, and believes he has seen many just like Cage come and go, Moxley will find out firsthand on Wednesday whether or not Cage is “just another guy” or if he’s the guy with the champion’s number.

,,AEW TNT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

,,Cody (c) vs. “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss

https://www.youtube.com/embed/RLk13Mcvl74

,With two weeks off to recover from that all out fight with Jake Hager where Cody retained the title by the skin of his teeth, the TNT Champion steps back into the ring this week to answer another Open Challenge. The challenger this time: “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss.

,While Sonny has focused a great deal of his time in AEW engaging in tag team competition, with Joey Janela as a partner as of late, Kiss amassed quite an impressive resume as a singles competitor prior to signing on with AEW. Sonny has competed around the country, as well as in Canada, and had championship successes on multiple occasions. Still, no disrespect intended towards any of those title runs or the competitors involved, none of them came from competition the level of Cody, nor on the scale of this match set for Wednesday night. This is the absolute biggest match of Sonny’s career, there is no debate about that, and it is testament to just how far he has come in his wrestling career in the last twelve months.

,See one year ago, the night of the 2019 “FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN”, Sonny was competing on “THE BUY IN” prior to the start of the event. It would prove to be a victorious evening over Peter Avalon, replete with memorable entrance, and gave the world a taste of what Kiss brought to the table. In the year since the first “FTFF” fans have seen Kiss’ growth as an athlete, in no small part to the tutelage of one Dustin Rhodes, and they have rallied behind Sonny.

,And clearly that growth, that talent, has been recognized by others as Kiss was handpicked by Coach Arn Anderson to challenge Cody for the TNT Title at this year’s “FTFF”. Will it be Sonny’s night to shock the world and dethrone Cody, or will the defending champion continue to build his legacy as the TNT Champion with another victory? We will have our answers by the end of the night on July 15th…

,,1st TIME EVER DREAM TAG TEAM MATCH…

,,FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix)

https://www.youtube.com/embed/7coSnm9bIpE

,“They spit in the face of tag team wrestling…”, those are the words of Cash Wheeler on the “ROAD TO…” episode embedded at the top of the page, and that is what we are talking about when it comes to this meeting between two of the greatest tag teams competing today.

,One thing that can be said about FTR, before they even crashed onto the tag team scene in AEW, is that neither Harwood nor Wheeler mince their words. They’ve never made it a secret how they feel about the state of tag team wrestling, how they believe their chosen method of competing is THE right way to engage in tag team wrestling, and that every other team is below them in the pecking order.

,Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix have taking the brunt of FTR’s verbal attacks before, they’re in good company with The Young Bucks in that, so the words expressed by Dax and Cash are nothing new to The Lucha Bros. The feeling of being dropped by Penta and Fenix though, being stomped on from above while a Package Piledriver forces your head into the canvas, that was certainly a new experience several weeks ago for FTR. And although it was Matt Jackson who took the fall, the victory that The Luchas Bros, The Butcher, and The Blade picked up last week had to be an unexpected blow to FTR in just their third AEW contest.

,But, given what those two men have presented thus far, the loss is likely the kind of blow that just serves to motivate heading into this contest, a traditional tag match that many fans dreamed about but never thought they would actually see happen.

,The onus is strictly on FTR to prove they are the superior team as they have boldly stated, there is no one else to blame for a loss, nor anyone else to take credit for a victory. And the same goes for Pentagon and Fenix, it is just these four men putting an end to the verbal diatribes and going into battle to prove who is the better duo. Is it the traditional, hard hitting, highly effective tag team strategies of Dax and Cash that is the superior force? Is it the frantic, high impact, unpredictable nature of The Lucha Bros that wins the day?

,Regardless of which way this match swings, it is the fans witnessing this clash of two of the best tag teams of the modern era who will be the winners come Wednesday night!

,,SIX MAN ACTION

,,The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson) vs. The Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt)

,Just as the FTR/Luchas clash is a first time clash, so to is this six-man tag team clash between The Elite and The Jurassic Express here. Point of fact, aside from a tag team battle royal back on the February 19th edition of “DYNAMITE” that featured The Young Bucks and the Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy pairing, none of these men have ever shared a ring together as opponents. There is no familiarity with the tag team tics, no first-hand knowledge of how everyone operates as team, just the exciting unpredictably that comes from facing fresh opponents.

,Now we have not seen Omega and The Young Bucks compete as a trio since The Homecoming edition of “DYNAMITE” on New Year’s Day when they bested the future Death Triangle unit of Pentagon, Fenix, and PAC. For all the success of that night though, it also seemed to be a catalyst for the animosity that would develop within The Elite heading toward “REVOLUTION” and the World Tag Team Title match between The Young Bucks and Omega/Page. But in the aftermath of the Stadium Stampede at “DOUBLE OR NOTHING”, it seems as if fences have been mended amongst the members of The Elite. But, that being the thought, one can’t help but wonder where Hangman Page sits watching his championship partner compete with other partners, ones who, friends or not, tried to take their titles not so long ago. Brothers love each other, brothers fight each other, and between these three Elite brothers, the love has generally been the dominant force, no matter else has taken place within the unit.

,Then we have The Jurassic Express, three men who have become increasingly bonded since the inception of All Elite Wrestling, and are virtually inseparable from one another. They are there to support one another in their fights, to cheer one another on from ringside, and as evidenced most recently in the Wardlow/Luchasaurus Lumberjack Match, more than willing to jump into the fray to help their friends.

,And as a trio, Marko Stunt, Jungle Boy, and Luchasaurus have certainly proven their capabilities with victories over The Inner Circle, The StrongHearts, The Best Friends & Orange Cassidy, as well as in outings against SCU, MJF and The Butcher & The Blade, and others. They are the kind of trio who balance each other out inside the squared circle; they bring power and speed, grappling acumen and daredevil risk-taking, striking skills and mat attacks. The JurEx is the epitome of the old Aristotle quote “the whole is greater than sum of its the parts”, and to their benefit, there is none of the drama that entails being a member of The Elite.

,Last year’s “FFTF” saw Omega victorious over CIMA and The Young Bucks beat Cody and Dustin Rhodes in the main event, while Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus were on the losing end of a three way tag match while Marko accompanied them to the ring. One year later, those three men have the chance of a lifetime to topple the cream of the crop, to take down three of the best wrestlers in the world today in The Elite, and shout at the top of their lungs that Jurassic Express has arrived!

,,The 2020 “FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN” event comes to you LIVE this Wednesday night on TNT at 8pm EST/7pm CST, or on AEWPlus.com for our International audience! Between two championship fights, a certified dream tag team match, and the return of The Elite to action, it’s an undeniably loaded night of wrestling!
